Causing a bit of a stir, most people look away and walk past.
Nice.
Great community spirit there, dicksplashes.
I struggle and as much as he growls and tries to force me into submission, the stronger I seem to get to defy him. He drags my arm up and sniffs my wrist, the one that Sebastian bit and it sends him into a feral rage. He twists my arm back, snapping it audibly.
I scream as the white-hot pain shoots up my arm and then everything seems to happen in a haze of agony induced fog and slow motion.
Xander leaps on the bear-man, teeth gnashing and bites his neck, tearing a chunk out of it, right there in the middle of the street.
I drop to my knees, cradling my broken arm, watching in horror as the public is now definitely getting involved in this commotion.
“Faith,” Harvey says, helping me up. “Come with me.”
“Harvey,” I croak and look up into his grey eyes. “I—I…”
“It doesn’t matter. We need to get you to safety, come.”
I nod, feeling nauseous from the action. He helps me to my feet and then picks me up, careful of my injured arm. The police are arriving, plus an ambulance. The small street is running amok, the confusion and violence a rarity in this small country town.
Glancing across at Xander, he is being forcibly held at bay by Ben, while Sebastian looms over the downed bear-man and smashes his fist into his face.
“Fuck,” I mutter. “What the fuck is going on?”
I’m disorientated for a moment, and I can’t remember why I’m out here or what the alphas are doing here rearranging faces.
“Get her out of here,” Sebastian grits out, barely heard over Xander’s snarls of restrained rage.
“Take him,” Ben states in a voice so cold and so commanding, I shiver with dread.
Sebastian, panting furiously, straightens up and takes control of Xander while Ben leans down and hauls the beat-up guy to his feet. He drags him along, not waiting for the alpha to find his feet.
That’s when things go from bad to worse.
Coming back to my senses, I groan as Harvey stuffs me into the back of a Range Rover and after climbing in himself in the driver’s seat, he drives off with me kicking and screaming because the other three alphas were just swarmed by the pack the bear-man belongs to.
“Harvey!” I scream, “They need help.”
He snorts. “No, they don’t, petal. Now shut the fuck up like a good little omega and sit tight. You have a universe of explaining to do and you can stew while we wait for the other guys to meet us back at home.”
“My arm,” I pout.
“Doc’s already on his way,” he says kindly, but then goes back to hunching his shoulders and slamming his foot on the accelerator, not happy with me in the slightest.
I keep my trap shut, knowing that I’m in so much trouble, if my arse doesn’t get spanked at the end of it, I’ll consider myself lucky.
ChapterForty-One
Faith
Back in my room, I sit still like a good girl while the fancy doctor takes care of my arm. After giving me some painkillers, he straps a makeshift cast on my left arm. I feel myself going a bit drowsy.
I can only hope that I don’t pass out before the other alphas get home, but I have a feeling that is going to be a while. With the other pack and the police showing up, Christ knows what trouble they all got into. Harvey is nowhere to be found, so when the doctor finishes up, with instructions to head to the hospital soon, I lie back on my bed and close my heavy eyes.
Within seconds, I drift off.
