“Daddy! Jerrick!” I shout at the top of my voice. “Daddy!”
They both come thundering towards me a second later, stricken looks on their faces.
“Are you okay?” Daddy asks.
“What’s wrong?” Jerrick shouts at the same time.
“Trey!” I shriek at them. “I’m such an idiot! We came here looking for a way to get to Mother, but the way to her is back at home!”
Jerrick’s face goes grim. “Trey?” he asks coldly.
I give him a curious look at his tone, but then shake my head. “He’s half Dragon. He can go to the Dragon Realms, find Mother and bring her to me. I don’t know why I didn’t even think of this earlier. I even saw him last night…”
I trail off as two very frightening faces are glaring at me to explain my last sentence.
“At the party,” I say slowly, trying not to give away the fact that I saw him after that and we engaged in a very sexy kiss.
“Humph,” Daddy mutters, but then turns to Jerrick. “Go and get him. The sooner this is over with, the better.”
Jerrick gives him a filthy look at the order, but with a grim face, he disappears. He will have to go to the nearest Faerie Ring and enter the Fae Kingdoms that way, and back again, so I decide to use the time to go and change, shooting an apologetic look at Theo as he stands on the outskirts of our little group with a puzzled look.
Soon, I’m back in the dingy hallway with Daddy, and the other two guards to wait for Jerrick and Trey. Theo has gone.
They Puffport in a few seconds after I did, Trey struggling in Jerrick’s strong grip, and protesting vehemently as Jerrick snarls at him to shut it and be still.
When he sees me, he stops trying to wrestle with the much stronger Dark Fae and gives me a tight smile.
“Princess,” he says with a gallant bow. “Am I at your service?”
“Yes,” I say, giving him a puzzled look. Did Jerrick not say anything?
I huff at him as he gives me a nonchalant shrug. We can’t just abduct Light Fae and bring them to Earth without their consent. Anders will have our heads.
“I need you to help me,” I say in a voice that would cajole the pants off a half Dragon.
I hope.
“Oh?” He raises an eyebrow at me.
“Yes, you see, I need to see my mother. It is of the utmost importance, and while I can stand here and appeal to her sire’s…uhm, whatever…” I pause and bite my lip. “It is quicker if you could go back there and tell my mother that I need to see her right now.”
“Would it now?” he asks darkly. “And what do I get in return for this favor?”
Both Daddy and Jerrick growl at him, but he looks at them nonplussed, and then gives me a searching look.
“Knowing that this goes towards what we spoke about last night,” I say firmly.
He smirks. That arrogant, sexy smirk that I was first attracted to and that separates his face from Blayne’s. I frown as I think about Blayne. I haven’t even thought about him since I met Trey. Where is he even at?
“Hm, I see. Actions, not words,” he drawls as Jerrick growls at me.
Not Trey.
Me.
Yep, I’m going to have some explaining to do to my would-be lover at some point today.
“Thing is, Princess, your sister doesn’t like me, and I’ve been sort of, banished from the Fortress,” Trey explains.
