“I went to the Light Fae Kingdom to find my mother. I met your daughter. We’re friends. Please. She needs you and I need to get out of here. Now.”

I give her a pointed look at the guards that have suddenly appeared next to us, swords flashing.

“Stand down,” she orders them.

They don’t move, but they do lower their weapons, slightly.

“Why should I trust you? You’ve done nothing but make Delinda’s life a misery since you showed up.”

I take a mild offense at that but concede that she’s probably right.

“If you come with me now and Savannah is harmed in any way, you can kick my ass straight back here to face them.” I indicate the guards.

“Count on it,” she snarls in my face and takes my hand, dragging me further into the room and then closing the door on the guards.

I would be a fool to think they left though.

However, when I look up, I kind of wish that she’d left me out there with them. The creature staring at me with way more suspicion than his fiancée, scares the life out of me. I’m more scared of her father than I am of Delinda.

“What is the meaning of this?” Remiel asks.

Aefre fills him in quickly, while I have the good sense to remain silent.

He doesn’t look all that surprised though. “Go,” he says. “Do you want me to come with you?”

Aefre shakes her head and looks at me. “I can handle him if he’s lying to me. I won’t be long.” She kisses him and then grips me by the elbow. “Take me to her,” she demands.

I Astral out under the watchful eye of Savannah’s soon-to-be stepdad and land back on Earth, right where I left Savannah, her dad and that asshole who abducted me without a word, in what I think is some sort of castle.

Savannah is pacing and she stops as soon as she sees us, rushing to her mother who embraces her before she holds her at arm’s length with a critical eye.

“You’re unharmed?” she barks.

Savannah nods. “Yes, I just need to talk to you.”

Aefre nods and then holds out the necklace. Savannah takes it and puts it back on.

“Thanks,” she says and smiles, turning it on me. “And thank you, Trey. I really appreciate this.”

“Your wish is my command,” I smirk at her, enjoying the slight blush she gets when I do that. It’s adorable.

I’ve never called anyone or anythingadorablein my life before. This woman has gotten under my skin in a big way. It’s not just that kissing her feels so right, it justhasto be, it’s more. It’s essence deep. I feel connected to her in a way that has never happened to me before. I intend to pursue her until she either marries me or tells me to fuck off.

Hopefully the former, because I’m not doing the latter.

She leans over to kiss me on my cheek, mindful of all eyes on us. I take that as my cue to head back to the Light Fae Kingdom to try to find out more about this prophecy that has them all in a tizzy.TheDark Fae Princess is to unite with a Light Fae and create a new race of half and half. It definitely sounds like something I would be up for with her.NotAmbrosia just to be clear.

I land back at my new home and head off to try and find Blayne and find out what the fuck is going on once and for all with him, our mother, this prophecy and every other fucking thing I can think of to give me a one up in the race for Savannah’s hand.

Because as sure as I stand here, she is going to be Queen and every Light Fae male in this Kingdom will be vying for her.

Savannah

Ihold onto my mother for a while longer than is strictly necessary. I catch Daddy’s eye on her, but he looks away in an effort to convince me that he’s fine.

Ugh. Stupid male pride.
