“I don’t care about that, as long as I spend time with you. The second it gets too much, I’ll ask you to bring me back, I swear.”

She bites her lip. I can’t help but stare at it.

I understand her reluctance. It’s the blood of her people that helps me past my limitation. If I drank straight from her, I’d be able to take this ring off.

“I respect you and your people,” I add quietly. “I would never do anything to harm any of you.”

She sighs. “I know that. I might have a hard time convincing everyone else. But, if you know the risks and you are prepared to accept the way it might be, then I will take you back with me. For a short time only.” She presses that point with a hard look. “I want to know you,” she adds quietly, staring at my mouth.

Holy shit. I’m starting to sweat buckets.

I lick my dry lips. Theonlypart of me thatisdry.

Her eyes meet mine. “I want to be up front about something though.”

“Okay,” I say warily.

“The reason that I have pushed you away is because I thought I was in love with another man. But it turns out that I didn’t even know the meaning of the word. That has changed in the last few days. I know that I wasn’t in love with Blayne because I have fallen in love with someone else. Two someones actually.” She gives a nervous laugh as my heart is crushed by her words. “My life is complicated, Theo, but I know you are aware of my mother’s and sister’s choices. It seems that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in some cases. I’m willing to bring you into my life if you can accept the choice thatIplan on making official, just as soon as the time is right.”

I blink at her.

“You’re asking me to be one of three men?” I choke back the indignation.

She lifts her chin and gives me a challenging glare. “If you want to pursue this fizz we have, that I know you feel as well, then, yes. Take it or leave it.”

I clear my throat. “Uhm,” I stammer, but really, I don’t know why. The choice is clear. “Take it,” I add. “Take it!”

I grin at her because I know I don’t give a shit about whoever else is in her life, in her bed, as long asI’mthere.

“But you have to give it a real shot, Savannah, and get past what I am,” I add sternly, hoping that I haven’t gone too far and lose her completely with my demand.

She hesitates, but not for long enough that I start to panic.

“Okay,” she agrees. “That’s fair.”

I exhale slowly and bend down to brush my lips lightly over hers.

She pushes me back slightly. “One more thing…”

I frown at her. “Okay?”

“The other two men are not aware of my feelings yet. I’ve only told you this because you are making this grand gesture to move to the Fae Kingdoms, at your peril, and I feel like I owe it to you to be straight with you. I need to take things slowly with them and with you, so please respect that.”

“Of course,” I say, inwardly beaming that she trusted me with this information.

“I’m sure I don’t need to tell you to keep my family out of my, and our, business as well. I will inform them, when there is something to tell. Are we clear?”

“Very,” I say. “Now may I kiss you?”

“Yes,” she says with that sexy smile playing at her lips.

She tilts her head up, allowing me to claim her mouth in a soft, lingering kiss that makes my fangs ache to take it further. I want to slice into her silky skin and drink from her until I’m completely sated.

But I don’t. I pull away first, showing her that she can trust me, and she accepts it with a look that lights the inferno inside me that burns only for her.

“I don’t know if I can ever allow that,” she mumbles, looking away.

I hide my crushing disappointment as it isn’t really a surprise. “It’s okay, sweetheart,” I murmur, curling her flyaway hair behind her ear. “You make the rules and I will stick to them. I swear.”
