I peer through the heavy, leaded window and see her sleeping, but she’s restless. She is tossing and turning and then she sits up suddenly, clamping her hand over her heart as she breathes raggedly.

I tap my beak softly on the window, once, twice, before she hears me and climbs out of bed.

With a pretty smile, she opens the window and I hop inside.

“Hi,” she says softly, holding her arm out for me to perch on.

I flap my wings gently and rise up to land swiftly on her proffered arm. She strokes my head with the back of her finger and then says, “What are you doing here? Everything okay?”

I want to stay where I am, with her stroking me, but I can’t speak in this form so I fly over to the windowsill and then I Shift, standing before her naked and with a growing erection that she smiles sexily at.

Her nipples pebble in her thin black satin nightgown that isn’t entirely down to the cool breeze wafting through the window.

I hope.

“Are you okay?” I ask. “You looked like you were having a bad dream.”

She licks her lips and avoids my eyes. “I don’t remember,” she mutters, but I know she’s lying.

I debate whether to push it, but I don’t want to upset her, so I leave it. For now.

I’m glad that I did because she sidles over to me and runs her cold hands up my chest, over my nipples and up around the back of my neck to pull my head down to kiss her.

I waste no time in slipping my tongue in her mouth, my hands going to her backside to squeeze gently and pull her a bit closer to me.

“Take me to the waterfall,” she murmurs, her eyes bright.

I groan softly, wanting nothing more, but it’s not safe.

“We’ll gather up the others,” she whispers to me. “Come.”

She takes my hand and with me still naked, she Puffports us out of her room and into a small dark room, startling the crap out of Jerrick and Trey.

“Meet us at the waterfall,” she whispers to him, as he stands up and then we are gone again, this time with me taking her, with Jerrick’s curses ringing in our ears.

We laugh quietly as we land by the waterfall, the water thundering down and causing a chilly spray to drench us.

“Oh!” Savannah exclaims. “It’s utterly beautiful in the moonlight.”

I agree, but I’m only looking at her.

“Yes,” I murmur.

The moon shines in this section of the Realm as it is bordering on the Light Fae lands and the moon is high up in their section of the sky while the dark clouds still cover ours.

“Sit.” I gesture to a patch of soft grass near the pool in which the waterfall cascades down into.

She does and then I sit in front of her, legs crossed.

I feel the presence of the others, but I don’t see them. They are keeping their distance for now, but I don’t expect it to last. They will want to touch her soon, especially as I intend to make love to her just as I described it to her. I don’t think they will stand by and let me without joining in. Will she want them to? Will I ever get her on my own?

Time enough to answer these questions later.

Right now, I take her hands and close my eyes.

“Do you feel the connection between us?” I ask.

“No,” she whispers, almost crushing my heart in the process, but I get it. It’s a magick thing.
