She does with a guttural groan that stiffens my cock even more before I flood her body with my seed, wishing that she didn’t have the curse on her that prevents her from conceiving.
I didn’t know it before we joined magick, but I can see it shimmering around her now.
It isn’t hers. She didn’t do it.
I’m guessing her parents put one on her. Whether she knows or not isn’t my business. Not yet anyway.
I let go of her hands, causing the fireworks to fade and fall around us, harmlessly to the ground, so that I can wrap my arms around her.
“I love you, Savvie.”
“I love you too, my little Raven,” she replies, filling my heart with absolute joy.
Jerrick is the only one she has said it to before tonight, but being here with her in the way that we have been has made her realize that we belong together.
“We should get you back,” I mutter, frowning when I realize that the other men didn’t get involved. Did they leave?
I look up as I see them approach now that we’re finished.
Savvie gives them all a bright smile which they return, as much in love with her as I am.
“Why didn’t you join us?” she asks lightly, not wanting to hurt my feelings, but she does anyway.
“You needed this,” Jerrick says gruffly. “We had to let you do this alone.”
She nods, accepting that.
I see Theo mutter something to Trey, who gives him a grim look and says something back. I want to ask, but Theo has taken Savvie in his arms and says, “I’ll see you in the morning.” Then he is off like a shot in the dark.
Savvie frowns after him, but Jerrick scoops her up in his arms and Puffports her back to the palace and the safety of her bedroom, leaving us to follow and once again let her spend the night alone.

Ihated having to leave Savvie, but something caught my eye as I was patrolling my section of the forest while Savvie and Rook were together.
I saw Ambrosia travelling by black unicorn along the path towards the Light Fae lands. I knew it was her the instant I saw the bright pink dress she was wearing. She is the only spot of color in this otherwise dark Kingdom. But it does nothing for her complexion. She’s pretty in the way that all the Dark Fae are, with her black hair and light purple eyes. She is not beautiful like Savvie, though.
My stomach grumbles as I slip through the trees, keeping well out of the way of the open pathway and it reminds me how fucking hungry I am. I haven’t fed on blood since a few minutes before we left Constantine’s castle on Earth. Aefre offered me her wrist a while back, but I politely declined. Savvie would stake me if she ever found out I fed from her mother, and that’s if I’m still alive after Constantine gets through with me. I’m hoping to come across some Fae forest creature that can donate me a few mouthfuls before I let it go. I can’t kill, not even something the size of a mouse. Drake will have my head before I can blink. I knew coming here wasn’t going to be easy. I didn’t expect so much open hostility though. I thought it might be veiled and insidious.
But no. The Dark Fae are all about open hatred, it seems.
I’m trying to not let it bother me. It certainly helps now to be part of this group of men that would do anything for Savvie. Hopefully that includes having my back if I get into a situation that I can’t get out of on my own. I try not to think about the opposite of that and them letting me die to get me out of the way.
I see specks of light coming through the trees in front of me and I slow down. The Guards will be active and plentiful in light of Anders’s declaration.
I half expected the forest to be full of them, but it seems they are only protecting the palace. The reason for this becomes clear as the trees thin even more and I duck behind one to scan the area. The wall to the palace is about fifty feet high and a sheer surface made from marble, or something very similar, and at this section becomes part of the actual palace which rises up another hundred or so feet from the top of the wall. I gawp at it in awe. You couldn’t scale that in a million years.
Ambrosia is long gone from sight, but she has to be in there somewhere. It’s the only place she would be going along this particular path that joins the two palaces. The villages and whatever else are all on different paths in different directions.
I found a map and figured it all out earlier, thinking if I was going to be here a while, it might prove useful.
I disappear back into the thicker trees and move forward some more. I have no idea what I’m doing or going to do. Entering the palace is a non-starter. If I get caught, I’m as good as dead. But after overhearing what Ambrosia and her mother were saying about Savvie earlier, I’m not prepared to let this go yet. I will cross whatever bridge I come to next when I get to it.
As it turns out, after a few more minutes, I come across a thinner patch of trees again and see the lights from the palace. The wall is just as impenetrable here, but the palace has dropped back again.
I zone in with my sharp eyes, on a balcony set back and bathed in golden light. I hear the soft laughter of a woman with my keen Vampire hearing, and I realize I’ve hit the jackpot. Whoever is in there as well,Ambrosiais with them.
