“No!” I roar. “I absolutely forbid it!”

Aefre chokes back her indignation, but I don’t care. I don’t care how badass she is, there is no way that Savannah is doing this. As far as I’m concerned, this ismyjob. Not Theo’s, not Jerrick’s, not Rook’s. Mine.

She ismywoman. The only woman that I have ever loved, and I will not lose her because of something that I didn’t do.

“Who are you to forbid her anything?” Aefre barks out, seriously pissed off.

I look back at Savvie and know in my heart, body and essence what I want to do. So I drop to one knee in front of her and take her hands.

She gasps as she looks down at me with those mesmerizing violet eyes.

“Savannah, Princess of the Dark Fae. You are the Dark to my Light. You are the light in my darkness. I adore you, worship you and will forever love you. Will you do me the true honor of becoming my wife?” I ask her with a slightsmirk.

Her eyes widen and a smile tugs at her lips. “Yes!” she says immediately. “A million times, yes!”

Standing up, I sweep her into my arms, crushing her to me and drawing in her sweet scent, the happiest man alive that she agreed to be saddled with me for eternity.

“If you thinkthatis going to make herobeyyou, you have another thing coming,” Aefre snorts into her hand, but she has a smile in her eyes as I look at her.

I grin. “I know we’ve had our differences, but you must see how I’ve changed? How Savannah has changed me? Do I have your blessing?”

She sighs and purses her lips. “You have been a source of trouble for my eldest child, but I do see how much you love Savvie and I think she will be a positive in your life. As long as her father agrees, then yes, you have my blessing.”

“Where is Dad?” Savvie asks, crinkling up her nose.

“He’s taking care of something, he will be here soon,” Aefre replies, looking a bit shifty.

“Ahem,” Drake says, drawing my eyes to his, “And when were you going to askmypermission?”

I lick my lips.

Ah, yes. I had forgotten I had to get past the formidable Dark Fae King.

Letting go of Savannah, I face him, square on. “You know that you aren’t going to refuse me. She needs a Light Fae mate, and I don’t exactly see you taking on any one of those fuckers that fought against you to steal her away. Apart from that, I love her, and I will always do right by her. I will ensure she is protected and safe or die trying.”

“Humph,” Drake mutters gruffly, cornered by my words. He knows I’m right.

I slide my gaze over to Jerrick, who looks like he ate aspider full of acid and Theo, who just looks pissed off that he didn’t get in there first. Too damn bad.

“Look,” I point out as no one says anything further. “Savvie needs a Light Fae mate. I’m it. The fact that we are in love is just the icing on the cake.”

“He’s right,” Aefre says to her father. “You can’t refuse him.”

“I know,” Drake says with a sigh. “You will wed immediately and…” He gives us both a look that speaks volumes, “…consummate the union straight afterwards.”

“They can’t,” Jerrick says quietly.

Savvie turns to him and slips her hand into his, giving it a squeeze. What does he know that I don’t?

We’re not left to wait very long as Savvie sighs and says, “With the blood oath, I can’t be close to… uhm… any other man. It will undo the work that Raize did to help me.”

My eyes bore into hers. It makes me even more determined to do this and do this now.

“Then we kill Anders now, today.”

“You have to let me do this,” she says quietly. “Alone.”

“No,” Theo says before I can. “I am prepared to do this.”
