He sighs and draws her closer. She lets go of my hand, and I feel the loss. “We will give you one week, just the two of you. You will have to take advantage of the time together. Then we will join you again however you will have us.”
She looks at me. I nod slowly, knowing that I can’t be selfish. This is about her Kingdom, her rule. It hurts like hell knowing that Trey will be spending all of that time with her alone, here in her bed, but I have to do what she needs.
“Theo?” Jerrick says, turning to him.
“One week. I will not be able to hang on for much longer.”
“None of us will,” Jerrick says but with a hint of a smile.

“I love you all so much,” she says. “I will make it up to you one-on-one.”
“Counting on it,” Theo says. “I’m not staying away, though. I can’t not see you for a whole week.” He moves away from the door to stand in front of her. She flings her arms around him, and I watch as he sniffs her neck, his fangs flashing.
“You aren’t allowed to stay away,” she says. “I need you all so much.”
I’m completely mesmerized by his fangs. I suddenlywonder what it would be like to have them sink into the tender flesh of my neck. If Savvie doesn’t give in to the bite soon, I may have to offer.

She smiles. “I’ll come and see them in a little while.”
I nod, and then I leave, Puffporting back outside. The ravens come to me immediately, surrounding me and giving me a sense of peace.
It is going to be one hell of a long week.

Theo
Taking my leave of Savvie shortly after Rook does, I was worried that if I didn’t, I would bite into her and not stop drinking until my thirst for her was slaked. I’m going to have to convince her, and damned soon, to give in to it. Now that she knows she has some Vampire in her, maybe that will help her decide.
At a bit of a loose end, I amble outside, when I find myself heading in the direction of the forest.
I speed up, not running, but not dawdling either, as I slip through the dense trees until I come to the small lake in the middle somewhere. It is deserted, the dark, thundery sky up above casting a gloom over the place that would otherwise be quite spectacular.
“Looking for me?” Elrich’s deep voice resounds around the clearing as he comes through the trees near the bank of the lake.
“Maybe,” I say, my heart hammering slightly. I can’t stay away from him. I don’t know why. I have never lusted after another man before, so this is new to me. Well,lustis probably too strong a word. I don’t crave him, I don’t want to bewith him in that way, but I can’t seem to forget about him either.
“Come here,” he says, beckoning me closer.
Licking my lips, I can smell his blood from here.
