“Bring her here and imprison her,” Savvie states. “For treason.”

“The place where she is a Princess, and her father used to be King for millennia,” Jerrick points out quietly. “It’s not the best plan.”

“Take her to Earth,” I mutter, not expecting anyone to hear me, let alone think it was a good idea. Too bad the support comes from Rath, who gives me a bright smile.

“Why, the young stud has just had a cracking idea,” he says.

Savvie lets out a sigh and glares at me. “Earth?”

“Why not? It’s neutral.”

“Precisely!” Rath booms. I mean, I appreciate the support, but after I made a complete fool of myself kissing him, I feel like crawling under a rock.

I don’t know if he was coming on to me with his offer of a bite and making me feel his hard-on from it or if it was a test or… anynumber of other things an ancient Dragon god might do to play with me. Who the fuck knows?

“I don’t want Theo going to the Light Fae Palace alone. Simple,” Savvie states, folding her arms and giving me a fierce glare.

“Okay, say they’ve accounted for Dragon magick and can block us, it won’t be for very long with a god on our side, and secondly, now hear me out, is there any way to bump up the kid’s power?” Trey asks, giving me a penetrating look that I want to shy away from.

“Kid?” I croak out, taking offense, but I don’t have a leg to stand on. With the exception of Savvie, I am the youngest of this group by a mile. I have been around for about fifty years. Trey and Jerrick are both fifteen hundred, Rook is two hundred, and Rath is, well, I can’t even of think six thousand years without shuddering. That’s, like, Old Testament old.

“Yes,” Rath states to everyone’s surprise, mine most especially.

“What do you mean?” Savvie inquires before I can answer.

“Savvie,” I say, taking her hand and turning her focus on me. “I know you are worried, and I love that you are. You have no idea how happy it makes me to know that you care so much about me that you want to keep me safe. However, IknowI can do this. If I did it before, it will be easier this time. I know where I’m going. I’m faster and stronger than I look. Please, let me help you.”

Her face falls, tears springing to her eyes. I take her face in my hands and kiss her sweet lips gently.

I take a gulp and risk saying what I need to. “If I drink Rath’s blood again, I will be even quicker, even stronger. The rush is…”

Her eyes go wide and fill with desire behind her tears.

“Incredible. Sure, I will crash on my ass when the high wears off, but I can be in and back out with Ambrosia before that happens.”

“Actually, that wasn’t what I was thinking,” Rath interjects. “But glad to know that my blood affects you that way.” He gives Savvie a hard glare that she frowns at before a blank mask falls over her face, and she licks her lips.

I let go of Savvie. “What were you thinking then?” I ask, turning to him.

“I can give you some of my power.”

“Like a transfer?” Trey asks with a frown.

“Something like that. I will lend it to Theo, but…” His eyes bore into mine with all the ferocity of a Dragon god, and I flinch. “…I will want it back.”

“Of course,” I scoff to hide my shame at being so afraid of him in that moment, I nearly wet myself. Unfortunately, it also made my dick spring into action, and I shuffle around to hide it.

“That doesn’t sound safe,” Savvie mutters.

“If it gets that bitch out of power and the Light Fae back in turmoil without a Ruler, then I say we risk it,” Rook pipes up, having been quiet thus far.

Savvie turns her hard glare onto him. I won’t say that I’m glad that he flinched from it, but yeah. Thank fuck, I’m not the only one.

“It will take guidance and a lot of self-control,” Rath continues as if Savvie had never spoken, which only fires up her guns even more. “Come, we will practice.” He holds out his hand to me.

I look at Savvie, feeling the need to get her approval before I take it.

Her jaw is clenched as she stares at his outstretched hand. “If he dies, this is onyou,” she spits out at him.
