“Bring her to me,” I snap and Puffport out to the throne room, where I sit on my throne and stew for a moment. Jerrick will be fine where he is for a few minutes. It’s not like they cando anything to him without my say-so first. I need to get this Letisha bitch out of my way immediately. She seems to want to cause trouble, and I don’t need that right now. Especially when I have to inform my Kingdom of a few things that they won’t take too kindly to.

Harris arrives with the maid that I caught outside my bedroom earlier. I should’ve known she was up to no good.

Lifting my chin, I give her a steely-eyed glare that the brazen hussy doesn’t back down from. It aggravates me. She has no respect. Not for me as a woman, nor her Queen.

Petle rushes into the throne room, a notebook in her hand. She gives me a quick smile before she sets up to take notes.

Although I was kind of hoping this inquisition would occur off the record, I can hardly ask Petle to leave now.

“State your name,” Petle snaps.

Puzzled by her attitude, I give my assistant a curious stare. Her tone wasn’t businesslike at all. Does she have some kind of grievance against this woman as well?

Petle catches my eye and gives me a look of solidarity that makes me hide my smile. Yes, it seems that this Letisha is a known troublemaker.

The fact that Letisha gives her a level look now only further serves to piss me off.

“Letisha,” she states back coldly. “How is Griff doing, by the way?”

Petle’s face goes the color of beetroot and she snaps her pen in half. “Don’t you dare mention his name to me, you little slut,” she hisses before she takes in a deep breath and gives me an apologetic look.

The door opens a fraction, and Rath slips inside silently with a questioning expression on his face.

Letisha smirks and then looks back at me. “You asked to see me?”

I bite my lip to stop myself from smiting her with my wand as I wanted to do to the Guards who dragged Jerrick away. She has gotten on my proper bad side.

Rath is behind her in a flash, digging his staff into her back. “Say that again with more respect,” he whispers into her ear.

She freezes for a second before she turns to him with a sultry smile. She takes in his handsome face with a roving eye before she turns back to me.

She curtsies low, but she is mocking me completely. “Your Majesty,” she drawls.

“What is your issue with Jerrick?” I ask.

“He attacked me, forced himself on me,” she sobs, turning on the waterworks. “He is a beast!”

“When?”

She blinks as I don’t take her on at all.

“Last night,” she says.

“Doubtful. He was with me last night, and I wore him out. He wouldn’t have been able to get it up for you even if he wanted to, which he doesn’t,” I sneer.

Petle gasps at my blatant admittance, Rath snickers, and Letisha goes bright red.

“Well,” she splutters. “He did! He came to me, and when I didn’t want him, he took me by force!”

“I don’t believe you. Jerrick has already told me that you are causing trouble for him.”

“You believe him over me?” she shrieks.

“Yes, I do. Iknowhim. You are a simple pest and an annoying one at that. I get that you feel scorned because he dumped you, but have a bit of respect for yourself,” I say with so much contempt, it actually makes a dent in her armor.

She lowers her eyes for a brief second before she raises them again defiantly.

“Usingthatmeans of attack to hurt him and gain sympathy from me is despicable,” I continue. “You don’t give a shit about the victims who have actually endured that vile act and have to live with that kind of hurt daily. You are a disgrace as a woman and as a Dark Fae. I no longer wish to have you in my Kingdom. You are hereby dismissed from your post in the Palace and banished from Dark Fae lands. The Enchantress will brand you as a pariah on your way out, and I never want to see your face in my Kingdom again. If I do, you will wish that you had stayed away, I promise you that. Now go. Leave at once to collect your belongings. A word of advice, as well… don’t leave the Enchantress waiting long, I hear she is in a wicked mood this morning.”
