I indicate to Petle to get in contact with the Enchantress immediately. She gives me a look of utter respect and pride and then hurries off.
Harris jumps to attention when I snap my fingers at him, lunging forward from his post by the door to grab Letisha by the arm.
“See to her dismissal and then free your commanding officer from the dungeon. Don’t ever go around me again, Harris. Not a single creature is to be touched in this Kingdom without my express say-sounlessthey are a threat to the security of my people and my lands. Are we clear?”
“Yes, Ma’am,” he mutters and scurries off with Letisha struggling in his firm grip.
I look at Rath, who stares back at me in adoration.
“Nicely done, my goddess. But now you have a pronouncement to make.”
“I know,” I state, holding out my hand.
He takes it and helps me up. “Will you also tell them about the goddess in you?” he inquires casually.
“Not yet. Let me deal with the fallout from having multiple lovers first,” I say with a little laugh, but I don’t feel that the Fae are going to find it funny.
Not at all.
Chapter 15
Trey
“What in the name of hellfire are you doing in there?” I ask, staring at Jerrick locked away in a cell made from iron bars.
“I could ask you what you are doing down here as well,” he drawls, seemingly unconcerned.
“I was coming to speak to Savvie when I saw them take you. I figured you’d be in here after that take down,” I give him a smirk that makes the alpha dog in him growl at me.
“I was caught off guard,” he snarls.
I hold my hands up. “I get it. You were too busy kissing the Queen. So, wanna tell me what the fuck is going on?”
“A damn good question,” he mutters, but then he fixes me with a glare. “What did you want with Savvie?”
“That’s an odd question. She is my fiancée.”
He rolls his eyes. “You were just as pissed as I was about that little revelation, so don’t fuck me about. Were you going to forgive her or hurt her?”
“I would never hurt her,” I say with a fierce frown. “She has hurtmeby once again keeping something between her and Rath. I’m finding this is becoming a problem.”
“Yeah, not to mention she is truly his other half. Where the fuck does that leave us?” He sighs and rubs his hand over his face. He looks so defeated it transfers over to me, and my shoulders slump.
But I shake it off. If I let myself think that way, then I might as well back away from her now because it will only cause issues for us further down the line. I need to forgive her. Understand her reasons for hiding it, understand what it isexactlybetween her and Rath and then do my damndest to make her the happiest Fae Queen goddess that I can.
“We can’t let this affect us,” I murmur.
His eyes shoot up to mine, but then a large Fae man bursts into the dungeon and releases Jerrick from his cell with sincere apologies.
I tune out their argument and use this time to disappear. I need to speak to Savvie.
As I Puffport out of the dungeon, thinking about Savvie, I suddenly find myself rematerialize right next to her as she and Rath are walking through the entrance hall.
She jumps a mile, her hand over her heart. “Trey!” she exclaims. “I’m sorry about...”
“No, Little Faerie, I’m apologizing here, don’t ruin it,” I interrupt her with a smile.
She giggles and lets go of Rath’s hand to turn fully towards me.
