They got pictures taken with his parents, her parents, and her little brother. Then her sisters and his buddies from the team, way back when.

Misker and Heraina, and then Alejandro and Heraina, the pictures went on and on.

Dex was grinning happily behind the crowd as she ran around keeping everything going.

It was a spectacular wedding for the amount of time they had given her.

Worro was handfeeding her, and she opened her mouth just enough to let the food in.

This part was embarrassing, but it was traditional. She chewed and swallowed.“Thanks for that.”

“No problem. You have very useful friends.Even Krix is tired from the amount of specialty items and textiles he has crafted.”

“What happened to the short vows at city hall?”

“This is so much better, isn’t it?”He grinned.“As if I wouldn’t celebrate you.”

She grimaced.“It is very thoughtful but a lot.”

“That is why the ladies were there to help.So you wouldn’t panic.”

She shook her head and opened her mouth again.

He fed her carefully, kissing her softly between bites.A lot of people she didn’t know were going to have her image in their coms.

“So, what comes next?”

“First, cake then you.”

She blinked.“Ah.Right.”She smiled.“Promises, promises.”

He grinned.

They sat close together, and the party continued around them until around four when Worro stood, lifted her to her feet, and lifted her in his arms.He walked out of the party, and Keera laughed.“Time is up?”

“Time is up.We begin now.”

She grinned as they got into the long black vehicle, and then they were on their way to his place.Keera looked at him.“How do I get the jewellery back to Khasta and Khassi?”

He snickered and played a message for her.

Khassi’s voice was amused, “Worro said you are going to try and give them back, so this is a message that you can pass them along when another of your family members is getting married.Only then. So, you are going to be the custodian for twenty years or so.Enjoy.”

Keera looked at Worro.“No way.”

A second message.Khasta chuckled.“Yes, little cousin. The images and your story are going to be in every magazine and sweet story record. We are going to splatter the story of thwarted love everywhere.Worro ends up tragic and clueless, but you are determined and have intense focus. You come off rather well.”

Keera’s eyes went wide.“What?”

Khasta continued.“We have verified timelines and got your medical records from your family. It will be respectful but thorough.” The message ended with, “See you soon, cousin.”

Keera looked at Worro.“What?”

“People need to know what happened.Heraina’s journey as the tragic heroine was spread through the city in days.Yours has been silent for five years.I want it known so that no one can pretend it didn’t happen again.”Worro took her hand.“It needs to be known.”

“Right.”She pressed a hand to her chest.“It is just difficult.”

“I know, but we are going to spend some time with each other again. You get to relive my OCD house cleaning.I get to relive you cuddling up against me.By the time we are in the real world again, the rumours won’t matter, and you can resume life...with me.”
