“Sold. I think I’ll wear one of the sets tonight, but save the others for Aruba. Pick a few for yourself,” I say.

“Absolutely not.”

“Jenny, you were the one that said it wasn’t a big deal for him to want us to enjoy ourselves. Pick or I will select for you and you know my taste is not nearly as good as yours,” I threaten.

“Okay, okay, you’re right. In fact, I think this little number in a black and white will do quite nicely, ” Jenny says laughing.

“Total hottie! Ty is going to love them!” I say as we pay for our merchandise and leave the store.

The afternoon flies by as we roam Michigan Avenue taking in the new fall designs. “Does the security team always stay this close to you?” Jenny asks.

“Always. It takes a while to get used to, but I couldn’t imagine being without them now. It is a little odd that Jay is with us in addition to Matt and Sheldon. He’s usually with Chase if we are apart. I’ll have to ask him about that a little later,” I say. The boutique on the corner catches our eye, and I spot a short, fitted, rust-colored dress for the evening.

“What do you think?” I ask, holding it up to me.

“Hot,” she says.

“Here, try it on with these, she says holding up a pair of outrageous heels.

“Jenny, you know I like my flat sandals,” I protest and groan in mock despair.

“Yeah, but these will make you look so sexy… just try them on,” she encourages.

It’s the perfect fall dress; long sleeves to provide a little cover, short, but not too short, and would look good with sandals, flats, heels, or boots. I slide it over my head and am excited that it fits perfectly. The rust color is a beautiful compliment to my coloring and the patterns in the material remind me of fall. I grimace at the patent leather brown Louboutin pumps, but sit down to put them on and fasten the straps around my ankles. Jeez, they must be almost four inches high. I look in the mirror and have to admit they look great with the dress. I come out of the dressing room, and Jenny nods her approval. “Yes, that outfit is totally hot. I bet you end up in bed with your heels on tonight,” she says.

“Jenny!” I exclaim…

“What… just keeping it real. You really don’t think so?” she says.

“I’m almost positive I would lose,” I concede, smiling at her exuberance.

“If we hurry, we’ll have just enough time to stop by our place and change before we meet the guys,” I suggest.

“Jay, would you mind running us by the condo? We’re going to change before we meet the guys at Bazil’s,” I explain as we get back into the limousine.

“Not a problem at all, Kate,” he says, pulling out in the bumper to bumper traffic. He navigates the city blocks, and we are soon back at the high-rise. He greets the doorman who offers to have the bellboy assist with the packages, but Jay lets him know that he will take them himself.

“Is Chase still at the office?” I ask, riding up in the elevator.

“Yes, he’s been working all day, but he’s leaving shortly and will meet you at the restaurant.”

Message:Just arrived. Give them your name and they will escort you to our table.

Reply:We’re at the condo changing. Be about 15 minutes.

Message:Jay is with you?

Reply:Yes, stop worrying!

Message:BTW why is he with us today?

He doesn’t respond and I scowl at the phone, but look up when Jenny walks out of the bathroom. “You look fabulous,” I praise.

“Thanks,” she says, twirling around.

“The peach color is beautiful and the sweater material looks so soft,” I say.

“What do you think about the black boots with this?” she asks.
