“I’ll work to get the position filled and in the meantime, if you need anything, please let me know,” she says, seemingly pleased with my answer.

He guides me to my office and shows me the space adjacent to mine. “We had it designed so your assistant would be close,” he says. The office has a huge window and lovely view of the city, too.

“You think of everything,” I say, almost half under my breath.

“That's the way I like it, Baby. Now, I’m going to take you in my arms and kiss you. If my staff sees us, they may talk about it a little bit. In fact, it would surprise me if they didn’t, since it’s never happened here before. Okay with the plan?” he asks.

“So does a girl have to wait all day for this promised kiss,” I tease.

“Oh, you need only ask once, Baby,” he says, capturing my lips. His hand is caressing my neck holding me steady, rubbing the sensitive area behind my ear. My skin heats from his touch, and I lean into his fingers. He kisses me gently one more time before releasing me.

“I should let you get some work done now. I need to meet with Dad; he just got in a little while ago. Let Mary know if you require any assistance and try to let someone else do things that you don’t need to do yourself. It will provide someone with an excellent job at a good company, and you’ll have more time to spend with me.”

“And if I don’t, I know, you will be renegotiating my contract,” I say, laughing.

“You are a quick study,” he says, pushing a piece of hair out of my eyes and kissing me gently on the mouth. “I love having you here at Prestian. Text me if you need anything.”

I look around the office, and still can’t quite believe how lovely it is. I unpack a couple pictures: one of my mom and another one of my best friend, Jenny. The windows are spacious and have plenty of space to hold plants. I plan to go shopping to personalize the space further. I turn on the Mac and open up Pandora to one of my favorite stations and settle in to begin work on the medical center project. The morning flies by and it is already late afternoon before I attempt to catch up on email.

Kate,

Thank you for the workflows and diagrams. I have asked that we have three architects dedicated to the design of the Prestian Medical Center since there will be two different facilities.

We are in the process of projecting a footprint for each design based on the size of the land. I can assure you there will be more than enough space to put in the Medical Center and any number of other amenities such as parks, water retainments, or anything else the team referenced based on the amount of land Prestian has purchased.

Thanks,

Terry,

Hi Jenny,

Are you available in the next week or so to get together for drinks or dinner with Chase and me?
