“Good. They could be crucial to her national success,” Chase says.

“Yeah, she was pretty excited about the opportunity you gave her,” I say as we lift off and Jay comes into the cabin.

“The security detail have swept the entire facility and nothing causes them concern. We still have our communications team staying close to Alfreita’s crews, but the radio waves have been quiet up to this point. Our men have mitigation strategies for just about any scenario you could imagine laid out, but I’d feel a lot better with that guy out of the picture,” Jay says.

“Briefing in about an hour or so?” Chase asks, glancing at his phone.

“Yes, I want to make sure everyone is comfortable with the drill,” he says, stealing a quick look in my direction.

“I promise, I will behave and not cause you one bit of concern tonight,” I say.

“I’ll be sure of it,” Chase says, eyes alight with amusement.

Jay shakes his head and smiles good naturedly at our antics. “We’ll see about that,” he says, walking towards the cabin door.

“I’m not quite sure how to take Jay’s comment. He thinks I am up to trouble all the time,” I say, pouting.

“Yes, Jay definitely calls it like he sees it,” Chase says, grinning widely.

“Chase!”

“I’ll have to think of some way to keep you out of trouble with my security team tonight,” he says.

“I am clearly not going to win at this conversation,” I say, bemused.

“On a more serious note did you see the email about state approvals for our Vegas tower?” Chase asks.

“Yes, I just saw it. I’m glad that Jenny didn’t or she would have really been stressed with the timelines. I can’t believe it came back so fast.”

“Dad and I had a little help from Carlos getting it pushed through. He owns quite a bit of property in the Vegas area.”

“I knew you both had properties all over, but I thought he was more East coast based. At least that’s what all the papers always seem to allude to,” I say.

“He and your family got their start on the East Coast, but Vegas is a hot bed of activity and your dad has been settled into the legitimate side of the city’s business district for years,” he says.

“You anticipate Vegas being the Prestian location for all the West Coast activity

around healthcare improvements?

“Yes, with the way we’re expanding I’d like to make sure we give the community the advantage of having a strong presence in those areas,” he says.

I suppress a yawn and his eyebrows raise in question. “Am I boring you, Katarina?” he asks with a smirk.

“Hmm… not at all. In fact, I think I’m going to go catch up on a few emails and take a little nap so I can stay up late tonight,” I say, unbuckling and kissing him gently on the lips before heading towards the master suite.

The thought of skimming through emails is long forgotten as the king size master bed beckons to me. I check the closet to make sure my outfit is onboard and set the alarm on my phone, allowing plenty of time to get ready before slipping under the luxurious quilt and drifting off into a deep sleep. A couple hours later the steady drone of the alarm rouses me and I reach for my phone to turn the offending disruption off. I stretch and slowly begin to wake up deciding to catch up on email before getting ready. I skim through the list responding to a few and delete the informational ones which don’t require referencing in the future. The sound of my phone alerts me to an incoming message.

Message:Finally awake?

Reply:Yes, just feeling incredibly lazy lately!

It is an hour later before I finish straightening my hair and have applied a light dusting of makeup. The normally unruly mass of auburn curls has been styled straight, sleek and shiny, and there is a slight rosiness to my cheeks and a gloss to my lips. I step into the midnight blue ball gown, sliding into the delicate straps that hold the material in place, leaving the expanse of my back bare until the silky cloth meets the straps at my hips. I adjust the silver and diamond restraints on my wrists that appear to everyone else as a perfect set of bangles and clasp the diamond necklace that shimmers against my neck when it’s not adorned to my nipples in place before slipping into the four inch strappy Louboutin heels. The sparkling diamond and silver theme of my jewelry is a perfect complement to the color and design of the dress. I feel him, the pull that exists between us and turn towards the door, not having heard him enter.

“You are absolutely stunning,” he says, shutting the bedroom door behind him, closing the gap between us in quick strides. He pushes my freshly brushed hair behind my shoulders and kisses my neck, letting his lips trail down the side of my sensitive skin and over the curves of my breasts exposed by the material’s design.

“The slit on this dress is absolutely perfect for what I have in mind tonight, Katarina. Turn towards the mirror and watch,” he says, lifting the material up to reveal the pale skin of my womanhood below.

“So beautiful,” he says, caressing my clit gently with the top of his thumb while I watch in the mirror.
