"I like it too," I moan when his fingertips slip beneath my panties. I gasp as he slowly rubs circles on my clit.
"I love the way your body responds to me, Firefly." His hips press into my back while he rubs his length against me as he continues to work my nub. A burning ache builds between my legs, and my breath hitches the closer he brings me to the edge of climaxing. Just as my body is on the verge of coming, he stops.
"Sam." My breaths come out as wisps of air. "Please."
Bringing his body over mine, he dips his head and takes my mouth with his. Desperate for more, I pull him closer wanting to feel the weight of his body against mine. I pour everything I'm feeling for him into our kiss. I have fallen so hard for this man.
Feeling the weight of his arousal against my thigh, I part my legs letting him settle between them. Never breaking our kiss, Sam enters me in one slow motion. My hands slip over his shoulders and down his back. Gripping his ass in both my hands, I dig my nails into his flesh, urging him to give me more. Hiking my leg over his hip, he gives me what I want.
Once again, my climax builds. Grinding down, Sam creates the perfect amount of friction against my sensitive bundle of nerves, just enough to send me over the edge. Waves of intense pleasure ripple throughout my body. I feel another orgasm build on the back side of the one he just gave me. In one fluid motion, he flips us, bringing me to settle on top of him without breaking our connection.
"Ride me, babe." His hands grasp my hips guiding my movements, helping me find my rhythm. His eyes fall to where we are connected, and they stay there. Using the pad of his thumb, he rubs my clit. I feel my walls tighten around his shaft with every stroke.
"Oh my god." My toes curl as tension builds.
"That's it. Give me one more, beautiful." With those words, I'm gone. My orgasm explodes. Gripping my hips, Sam thrusts his hips upward a few times finding his own release.
Still sensitive, I tremble as he slips from beneath me and tucks me into his side. Wrecked, I lay there as Sam continues to hold me. With my body draped over his, I let the steady rise and fall of his chest soothe me. The last thing I remember before falling asleep is the deep timber of his voice saying, "sleep, baby. I got you."
After showering and getting dressed,I follow Sam downstairs straight into the kitchen where we find Lisa cooking alongside Ember. Emma and Luna are already eating breakfast at the kitchen table with Raine. I watch her and Luna's interaction. Their hands move as they communicate with each other. The fact that Raine knows sign language helps make this whole experience a little easier on Luna.
"Hey, you two," Lisa greets us. "Come on over here and fix you a plate while it's hot." As Sam and I load our plates, Grey strides in through the sliding door leading to the backyard. I take my plate to the table and sit on the other side of Luna. Turning her body, she looks at me and smiles.
"You look like you are feeling better today," I smile back. Instead of using her notepad, Luna signs, as Raine translates.
"Much better, thank you."
Sam pulls the chair from the table. Grey does the same taking a seat next to Emma. "Prez gave the go-ahead on taking you ladies to town since two of you have doctor appointments, and since you may need a few more things from the house, we'll be stopping by there too," Grey mentions before lifting a fork full of pancake to his mouth.
Luna wasn't looking at Grey when he spoke, so Raine tells her what he had to say. Both Emma and I are the ones who have the appointments today. Luna picks at the food left on her plate. Giving her arm a nudge, I grab her attention. "You don't have to go. You can stay here." I try to ease her mind thinking she may be worried. She shakes her head and straightens her back against the chair.
"No," Raine translates in a stern voice. "I'm tired of being afraid. I'll go," Raine finishes.
I understand how she feels. You reach a point in your life where you have to make a choice, and she's choosing to fight.
With breakfast over, Emma, Luna and I offer to clean the kitchen since the other women cooked. Almost an hour later the three of us step outside into the warmth of the mid-morning sun, soaking in the heat of the rays as we wait for Grey to bring the SUV around front.
"Why do you guys call it a cage?" Emma asks Sam.
"You're caged in; you can't feel the sun on your back or the wind in your hair." He tries his best to explain, which seems to satisfy Emma's curiosity.
"Makes sense," she responds. Her eyes follow the truck as it pulls up. Sam opens the door and joins me in the back seat while Luna and Emma buckle in the middle row.
The next few hours go by quickly. The guys even stop by The Cookie Jar for us on our way back through town after leaving New Hope House. This was Luna's first time being in town since getting here a few weeks ago and the first time meeting Jake's wife, Grace. I stare out the window at the green pastures as we pass by several horses grazing behind white fences.
"What are you thinking so hard about over there?" Sam pulls me closer, and I rest my hand on his knee.
"For once—nothing. I usually have a million things running through my head, but right now I'm free of all of that." I find it strange as I say the words. I don't know how to describe it. Even with threats looming over us, I've felt a sense of calm today. Leaning my head against Sam's shoulder, I listen to the low hum of the trucks engine as we cruise down the highway.
The silence is short lived the moment I look out the window, noticing a small black car driving alongside us in the other lane with an arm hanging out the back window, and in hand is a gun pointed right at our SUV. I shout. "Gun!" seconds before the sound of bullets pierce the sides of the truck and the window shatters, sending shards of glass flying all around us.
"Goddamnit. Go! Go!" Sam roars as he unbuckles. The SUV lurches forward as Grey floors it. He turns to me. "Babe, unbuckle and get the girls on the floor. Get as low as you can. Got it?"
Wasting no time, I do as he says, but before climbing the seat, I kiss him. "I love you." I don't wait to hear him say the words back. Flinging my leg over the back of the seat I twist my body facing Emma and Luna. The fear in Luna and Emma's eyes cause my stomach to knot. "We need to get down on the floor," I try to keep my voice even and calm and make sure Luna comprehends what I am saying. Understanding, she joins Emma on the floorboard of the SUV between the front and middle seats. There's another couple of loud pops and, suddenly the SUV pulls hard to the right. Grabbing hold of the bench, I anchor myself to keep from getting flung and look over my shoulder through the windshield just in time to see Grey struggle to gain control of the vehicle as it crosses the middle line into an oncoming semi truck.
"Shit!" Grey yells pulling the steering wheel in the opposite direction as hard as he can narrowly avoiding us getting hit.
"What the hell?" Sam snaps.
