Anna was real, and she washis. He would fill the dwelling and their lives with everything she could want or need. He would rebuild. And this time, it would be not just for his mate but forAnna.
“Mae fy nghalon yn eiddo i ti,” he whispered to her in the dark, giving her the words even if she didn’t hear.

Anna woke tangled in blankets and wings and Frey’s long hair. And without a headache.
In that split second between waking up and wakefulness, she worried he might have been a dream. That in her pained desperation and guilt, she’d conjured him up somehow. Feeling him lying beside her set soul at ease.
Then there was the profound relief of finally having a clear, pain-free head. She stretched her legs and spread her toes, feeling better than she had in…a long time, actually. Her heart was a bit lighter, her outlook a bit rosier. She was still mortified she’d stripped in front of Frey, but after being in pain so long, she hadn’t had the capacity to care anymore.
And when she thought past her embarrassment, she remembered how sweet Frey had been. No feels were copped. He’d been a perfect gentleman and made her feel safe. Cherished.Better. She couldn’t emphasize enough how much better she felt—in large part because of him.
The big, warm arm banded around her flexed, drawing her back into the curve of an even bigger, even warmer chest. A rumbling purr tickled at her back, and warm lips with the hint of fangs pressed to her temple.
“Good morning, fynghân.” The words reverberated in Anna’s ear, making her smile.
She caressed the strong forearm fastened just beneath her breasts. “Good morning,” she said, unable to help her blush.
“How do you feel?”
“A lot better.”
Gingerly, just to make sure she didn’t prove herself wrong, Anna rolled onto her other side to face Frey.
It was still very early morning, not even predawn light creeping inside. She could only really discern the outline of his profile, but she felt his attention fixed on her.
Waking up to him, getting to touch his warm chest and cuddle up close, wasamazing. The soft coziness of sleep still hung around them, and Anna tucked herself into him and found that little place near the bottom of his throat. She couldn’t help nuzzling and kissing him there.
“Thank you for taking care of me.” Anna could do it herself, had done so many times before, even with bad bouts like this. Yet being taken care of, having someone there to help and comfort, was such an utter relief. She didn’t have to be strong or brave, just focus on feeling better.
He made that rumble, the one that told her he was pleased, and his claws found her head again. Anna somehow both melted and arched in a contented, feline stretch at the delicious rasp of his fingers in her hair.
“No need to thank me.” She felt his smile when he ducked in to brush her nose with his. “Though I wouldn’t say no to a kiss.”
Lord, she loved it when he was flirty.
Smiling, Anna asked, “You’d brave morning breath?”
“I’d brave anything for you, my Anna.”
Well, that does it.
In the dark, she didn’t quite meet his lips the first time, but soon they found each other. She’d gathered from a few things he’d said that he didn’t have much experience kissing, but ho boy, what he lacked in experience he made up for in enthusiasm.
Soon all Anna could think and feel was the give and take of him, how he slipped so easily inside her mouth to touch and tease. Then the next moment he was coaxing her into following, chasing him down with her own swipes and nips. Her heart kicked in excitement every time she drew a pleased rumble from that big chest.
Their kisses were loud and messy and amazing. She buried her fingers in that thick mane, loving how his hair, thicker and slightly coarser than hers, slid against her palms. He shuddered when she teased her fingers along the base of his horns, and she shivered with delight when that rumble turned to a growl.
“Are these sensitive?”
“The bases are.”
“You like it when I touch you here?”
With another of those wicked grins, he rolled them so he hovered above her in the soft, muzzy dark. A bolt of heat sizzled between her thighs to have him taking up her vision and pressing her into the bed.
“I like your touch everywhere,” he said, before swooping in for another kiss that tilted her axis.
