Even though she told me not to stop, I wasn’t going to take it any further at her job. I shouldn’t have even taken it this far, but when she said she was wet—when she gave me that gift of communicating her feelings with me, I couldn’t tell her no.
I couldn’t resist.
“You stopped.” She pouted sweetly and opened her eyes. “You did it again.”
I stood up slowly, helping her upright as she fought to regain her equilibrium. “What did I do?”
“Made me come while taking nothing for yourself.” She stuck her bottom lip out and as I watched her freely express herself, I realized she was the most relaxed I’d ever seen her. She was communicating and depicting what she wanted and needed from me.
“You’re giving me my reward right now.”
Her brow creased in the center as she slid to her feet. “What?”
“You’re verbalizing your feelings to me.” I said, and she froze, blinking rapidly as she realized what she was doing. “And you’re alone in a room with me.” I added, raising my brow at her, “With the door shut.”
“Good gravy.” She sighed and then smirked. “I guess I wasn’t thinking about it when you led me up here.”
“Does that mean you’re not afraid of me?” I questioned and held my breath for her answer.
“I’ve never been afraid of you.” She answered nonchalantly and then fought to hide a smirk as she adjusted her shirt. “You’re not as intimidating as you think you are.” Before she got the last word out, she fell into a fit of giggles and gave herself away.
“Funny girl.”
“Hmm. The funny girl falls for the serious man.” She hummed, tapping her finger on her chin. “How on earth do we expect that to work out?”
“I plan to distract you with so many orgasms; you don’t see my flaws.” I joked.
“And I think I plan to let you try.”
Chapter 14 – Laila
He was watching me.
Staring over the rim of his glass as I moved around the bar, working and trying to focus.
Did he know how hard it was to pay attention to anything else in the world besides my need for him?
Did he know how difficult it was for me to admit to myself that I needed him?
My body tingled, aware of his stare as I tried to watch the bartender, Nicole, mix a cocktail for an order.
“You see?” she asked, topping it with a sprig of mint. “It goes directly to the top of the glass when it’s poured, or you did it wrong.”
“Got it.” I nodded, swallowing down the lust in my body as she handed me the shaker.
“Your turn.”
I took a deep breath, started gathering the same liquor bottles she used, and repeated the process.
“Good.” She praised me as I poured the right amount into the shaker. “Have you bartended before?” She asked as I started shaking the drink.
“Kind of.” I shrugged. “Nothing on this scale.”
“Well, you’ve got the pour counts down, which is the hardest part for most.” She watched as I strained the drink into the glass and waited to see where it would end. “Bingo.” She said as the last drop left the glass completely full. “Impressive.”
“Thanks.” I set the glass down on the server’s station with the ticket under it. “You’re a good teacher.”
“So, who’s the hunk?” Nicole asked, nodding subtly to Zeke at the other end of the bar, watching me without recourse.
