It’s been a while now that Crayton and I have come out publicly as a couple, and since then no one, not even Alexis, dared to question it.

The only jerk who would be stupid enough to challenge our relationship hasn’t been seen since the night of the dance, and, according to the school populus, has taken up virtual learning because of a mysterious “medical condition”.

Here’s to hoping it’s a terminal one.

Crayton pulls me into him by my waist, not offering Alexis a second glance as he guides me toward the steps.

“Listen, mister.” I say in my best serious tone. “We’re actually studying today, midterms are right around the corner.” I wave a finger at him. “So no hanky-panky.”

Crayton chuckles. “What the fuck is a hanky-panky?”

I eye the pierced package in his pants. “You know…hanky-panky.”

Crayton squeezes the bridge of his nose. “Is this the ADHD term for fucking?”

I slap his arm. “Asshole. And no, it’s the term for having incredibly hot sex with your boyfriend.”

“It doesn’t sound so hot when you call it that.”

“Well, then maybe it’ll keep you from trying to have it.”

“That so?” Swooping me up, Crayton hikes me over his shoulder, leaving me both laughing and screaming as he carries me the rest of the way up the steps.

“You heathen! Put me down!” I pound my fists into his back, which of course does nothing to sway him. It’s like trying to punch your way through a brick wall.

Crayton helps himself to a strong slap to my ass. “If you’re trying to avoid getting fucked senseless, Little Ghost, you should probably refrain from using terms that make my dick hard.”

Midterms cameand went like a tornado, the entire week filled with term paper deadlines and exams hard enough to make my head spin.

Thankfully, both Crayton and I passed with flying colors, despite the loss of studying time.

It’s the Friday before Christmas break, and the Royals decided the best way to celebrate the holidays is with a party at Levi’s mansion in Queens.

My relationship with Crayton has created quite the snowball effect, forcing new friendships, and even genuine ones on both sides.

Hendrix has accepted Crayton becoming a human piece of furniture in our dorm room, and although her and Saint still have this “will they, won’t they” thing going on, she still tries to convince everyone, but mostly herself, that it’s the latter of the two.

Which is why I decided against telling her about what the three of us did in their dorm room.

Not the best decision, I know, but it meant nothing, and it’s not like Hendrix knowing will do her any good. If anything it will only solidify her reason to not cross the holy line.

Archer has found his place in the crew too, mostly the voice of reason and rules, but there’s something about him the past couple months that seems off.

I can tell he’s troubled because that usual spark of his has gone missing, and he’s been uncharacteristically quiet. I’ve been doing my best to squeeze it out of him, but other than swearing it has nothing to do with me and Crayton, he’s keeping whatever it is to himself.

I look over at Archer from the passenger side of his car, and watch as his jaw clenches, so lost in thought as we make our way to Levi’s house.

Crayton wasn’t happy when I told him I’m riding with Archer in an attempt to have a heart to heart, but with a couple sexual bribes, I ended up victorious.

“Hey man,” I playfully punch his shoulder. “What’s going on in that head of yours?”

Archer’s hard expression dissipates, and he goes right back to that charming smile. “Oh, nothing, just a bit on edge about that chem exam. Shit was hard and if I don’t score at least a ninety, it’ll drop my GPA to an A.”

I don’t believe what he is saying, especially because we both know he’s at the top of our class, and can pretty much school our teachers on most subjects, but I go along with it for his sake. All in hopes it can steer us into a deeper conversation.

I look behind me at Hendrix, who’s lost in one of her drawings in the back seat, and decide I’ll keep her out of this attempt to unravel Archer.
