“So, let’s go out to a club tonight. Jasper, have your friends meet us there, and Jax, you can watch us from the shadows.” The perfect compromise. I opened my mental door wide for the boys.
“Please join in with us whenever you feel ready. You are welcomed,”I said to Jax, not wanting him thinking that I confined him to the corner for the night.
I looked around at my other boys. They were just standing there, with a look on their face saying that not all my words had bounced around enough in their brain for them to understand what just happened.
Justice was the first to nod while smiling. I could always count on him to understand what makes me happy. Jasper was the next to spring into action as he pulled out his phone and made a few calls. He came back a few minutes later, smiling.
“They said to meet at DÆD in a couple of hours,” Jasper said excitedly.
“Great. Is this good, or do I need to change?” I looked down at my leggings and band shirt. Club sounded like I may need a change.
“You can go anywhere you want wearing whatever you want, and you’ll still be the most breath-taking person in the room,” Jasper blurted out and honestly, it surprised me.
“Hey! Cute is my shit. Go back to being a big grumpy troll demon,” Justice said, rolling his eyes.
“Guys focus. My clothes,” I interrupted.
“Take them off,” Justice and Jasper said in unison.
None of us held back the laughter. This felt good. This felt right. We had bits and pieces of this during the past week while Jax was gone, but something had always been missing. Now, Jax was here and all he had to do was decide to come be a part of the group.
“Are you coming?”I asked Jax after my laughter subsided.
“With you to take your clothes off?”his tone came back shocked.
“No, silly. I meant tonight. Will you come with us to the club?”I replied. Did he want to come with me to take my shirt off?
“Yes, I’ll come.” Jax said after a moment of consideration.
I smiled in response and mouthed aThank You.I know I could have just said it out loud or in our mind. Sometimes the lips express something even your voice cannot.
“Jasper, why don’t you come back to my room with me and see if you can pick out my attire for this evening,” I said, hoping I was appearing seductive. I needed some words with Jasper, but I also really wanted to reward him for everything he has been doing right. Ah fuck it, I just wanted him for myself so badly at this point it hurt.
I heard Jasper growl deep within him as he smiled at me. Each one of my boys held two sides on their coins. Pleasure and Pain. Soft and Hard. Jasper was Passion and Calm. He got me riled up, especially with his war on full blast. It was riled up with passion, though. And he was my calm, my safe, my cuddly. Even when we were hanging out together, he was always touching me, brushing up against me. His fingers always found their way to my hair, and he would absentmindedly brush through it. He was the big, scary demon that would dismember any monsters he found lurking under my bed.
Justice smiled widely. “I’ll come pick you two up when it’s time to go. Jax, you can meet us at Mor’s door if you decide you’re coming.”
“He is,” I announced happily. Jasper scooped me up in his arms bridal style and I threw my hands around his neck to stabilize me as I laughed. Now, this is what I have always wanted in a relationship.
“Come on Princess, say goodbye,” Jasper rumbled.
“I’ll see you later, boys.” I gave a small wave as Jasper took off, running from the room with me in his arms.
He opened my door with his tail, which was super fucking awesome. Maybe I wouldn’t mind having a tail of my own around to help me carry shit and open doors. Jasper carried me all the way to the bed, where he dropped me.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I asked, as he grabbed my foot and started untying my boots.
“Helping you take off your clothes. They need to come off before I can put anything new on you,” he said, fixing me with a stare that stated every intention of the next couple of hours was to be spent on the naked stage.
“Wait one moment, we have to talk about today a little first, don’t you think?” I sat up on the bed and patted the space beside me.
Jasper took his shoes off, then sat down beside me. I finished what Jasper started with my boots, taking them off and allowing them to drop to the floor with a ceremonious thud. I scooted in closer to him.
“I know Jax was really the one refusing to listen, but I don’t want to see you guys hurting each other over me.” Jax refusing to listen to me was a much larger point, which needed a much longer conversation.
“Princess,” Jasper sighed. “It’s demon nature to let our aggressions out like that. Call it a byproduct of our nature and the longevity of our lives. We are in pain for thirty minutes tops for a mortal wound, and only a handful of those moments are even high pain. Our way gives us structure and release, and a way to settle differences without destroying worlds.”
“But it always ends up the same way. The person with the most power gets whatever they want, and on down the line.” They were going to start lessons with me once a day called compromise.
