Her wiggling stopped, and I could resume my journey down. When I got to her ass, I wrapped my hands around her hips and lifted her. There we go. That was much better. Mor braced herself with her knees to keep her ass in the air for me.

“Good girl.”

I grasped her ass roughly, loving that it was my ass to grab. I used my thumbs to part her folds and found her soaking wet after the last two orgasms. She could use a cleaning. I licked lustfully, demanding to get every drop of her arousal she had for me. The taste of her on my tongue and lips was tangy and delicious.

Her thighs would quiver and tense when I would stroke across her clit, and her breathy moans confirmed it was a favorite spot of hers. I added a few fingers inside her to give her something to grip as I felt her body rising to the peak yet again. I reached up and smacked her ass for good measure, sending her tumbling over the edge.

She lost the use of her legs for a moment, and I caught her by the hips. We would not lose any momentum. I shoved my cock into her, hard.

“Yesss,” she growled out, and it just spurred me on.

I knew I wouldn’t last long. I’m glad we don’t have to worry about pregnancy until she’s fully a demon. I snapped my hips, hearing them clap against her ass with my sharp thrusts. My fingers found her clit, and I circled it quickly.

“Come for me, Princess,” I growled.

Her orgasm triggered mine as she clamped down on me and I stilled inside her, emptying myself. It also felt like our very souls touched when we were like this.

“Good girl,” I breathed out, kissing her neck before giving her a bite. “Let’s get you cleaned up and then we can video chat with the boys. See if they have any new leads, and then I could get a bite of dinner myself.”

She agreed, and we separated. I wanted to just spend all night with her in the pile of blankets, cuddling and talking by the fire. Drifting off and waking up to eager, wandering hands and hushed moans.

One day, hopefully. One day like that, out of all eternity, was enough for me.

Video chatting with Jax was even worse than talking to him in person. He seemed even more flustered than normal and kept avoiding Mor’s gaze through the screen. He was always looking down at his notes or off in the distance. His eyes would sweep over hers occasionally.

They had done their arena talk before Jax had left. He thought it would have impressed her he was willing to do a hand-to-hand combat just to spend time with her. She argued she hated it when we hurt each other, and he promised to tear Justice’s hands off one day. They weren’t on grand terms, but they had come a long way.

Jax had heard the next concert was currently being teased, and as soon as he had a date, he would be back in the palace. Hunting cabins were always situated as close to portals as possible, to allow for the fastest information dumps. All evidence could be uploaded to the hunter’s server, which could be accessed at any hunter’s cabin with a password.

Mor seemed happy with the news that there was some hope for a lead. I saw the determination in her eyes, and I hoped she wouldn’t be even more determined to practice using her powers. I don’t think Justice could even control more than a handful of minds at a time. She was already in the double digits.

Justice answered the video call with his head under a blanket in the record hall. He said he put a sound barrier up around his nest so he wouldn’t disturb any demons. Should any decide to come in, that is. Justice was about the only demon I knew that spent much time there.

So far, he had been through all the vampire and fae books they had in the hall and none of the symbol styles even matched up, so that ruled out mid-realm. He had just found one of the Andemeron realm books and was going to compare the styles, and then he would come back to sleep.

Mor decided she needed to get some rest so she could be ready to go in the morning. I walked her to her door and gave her a sweet kiss goodnight.

CHAPTER26

JACE

Ifelt the moment one of my progenies died as a human. Once they chose an immortal life, it formed a bond between us. Lately, I have needed to make a lot of progenies. I am the Prince of the Vampire Kingdom. My father, King Edward Carnagekeeper, has been on the throne for 873 years. I am next in line, followed by my twin brother Sebastian. Considering I am next in line, and my father’s rapid decline in health, I decided it was time to make some decisions for the vampire kingdom. More and more of our territory’s edges were being taken away by the Fae.

We needed soldiers, and we needed them fast. We didn’t have the time to raise them from babies; we needed to sire some new vampires. So, I did just that. I targeted sizeable crowds in the human realm, spiking drinks with just a single drop of my blood. If they died within the next two days, they could drink blood and join the vampire ranks as my progeny.

All of them mine. All of them under my control.

I had felt when this one died, but typically if the vampire gene does not activate, the human dies within a few days. It was two weeks later when the connection between us activated. I could feel it there, but I hadn’t been able to feel her yet. Not until we were both in the same realm, which was exactly why I had been in the mortal realm.

She had died around here; I could feel that much, at least. It wasn’t my business how they died; I have no hand in it. I think of it as a second opportunity in a life that would have been tragically cut short. They would give me their upmost loyalty, as I was their sire, and I could literally command them. As a reward for their service, they can have a new life within our kingdom.

My brother hated the idea, of course. We were fraternal twins, so the only thing we really shared was a womb and a birthdate. He has long sandy blonde hair as opposed to my short dark style. He is bronzed to my pale complexion. I took after father.

Sebastian took after mother. When mother died at the hands of a fae, I lost all the joy in the world. I would win this war against the fae, no matter the cost.

I waited on Earth every day since the bond formed with my mystery vampire. I had read her tombstone: Morrigan Hallspring. There was something different about this one, which meant she could be a powerful weapon. Sometimes, I would follow the path all the way to the exact place she died. Blood still pooled on the floor, giving off a scent. My blood was in this blood during death, meaning she should have reanimated. But a body was found and buried. That body did not reanimate. I had come here to escort her from her grave bed and explain the choice to her. It was something I did whenever I was available. It resulted in more successful transitions.

When the bond first formed, I knew immediately which human it was. The only one to resist rising. All I needed to do was wait for her to return to the Earth realm. As long as she wasn’t being held against her will, the chances of a return visit were high. Her death was fucking weird. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like that before with a human death. Most were mundane.
