“I don’t see why that would be any of your concern, darling.” I almost slipped up there and called her love again.
“I was just wondering if that’s standard for vampires, a high sex drive. Or if I get that from the demon side?” She looked at me as if she was entirely serious.
“Vampires have very high sex drives.” The wheels in my head spun freely as I tried to figure her out. She was so different from any other soul I had ever met.
“Oh cool, good to know,” she said with a smile. Sipping on her water as she looked around to some of the smaller platforms with girls wrapped in chains and ropes danced to smaller crowds. Those vampires were advertising they were available for the evening. There were other areas in the back where you could take someone for blood or sex or both.
“What’s next in the vampire life?” She looked at me with curious eyes. I wanted to show her it all. I tipped the rest of my drink back, then stood. Let’s get on to the really fun stuff.
“Next, is making you into a vampire,” I said, extending my hand to her.
She grasped my hand and used it to rise from the seat. Excitement covered her face. “You’re really going to finish turning me? Wow, you finally made it to like step one of how to care for a fledgling vampire.”
I rushed her, pushing her against the wall next to our table. The entire building shook under the force of the hit, but the club continued on as if nothing had happened. I wrapped my hand around her neck, just under her collar.
“You can’t take a joke, Jace?” she smiled, and I felt my dick get hard. She was the perfect shade of crazy.
“I’ve got something you can take if you don’t learn how to talk to me,” I growled out. Maybe that would remind her of her mates, and she would stop pushing me.
“How about we get fledgling over and done with, and then I promise not to call you three anymore?” She fucking smiled at me like she knew how much it bothered me.
“You are getting a shit ton of power; I think it’s worth far more than that.” I glared.
“Yes, but it’s power you need to use, and I need to learn. So really, you’re doing it for you. You actually owe me, because I have to learn more power. Time is money, and you need me at your pace,” she mused.
“You will never call me three again.” I wanted to be sure I could get something out of this. I’m not sure how she twisted it all around like that, but negotiating with her felt like getting trapped in quicksand.
“Deal.” She smirked. I let go and stepped back from her, letting her catch her breath while she leaned against the wall.
“Let’s go drink then,” I said with amusement in my tone. Despite everything, I was having more fun than I’ve had since mother died. Morrigan was a bright spot of white against an otherwise black sky.
I had every castle servant and maid lined up and waiting outside the banquet hall. Most fledglings go on a murder spree for a few hours after their first drop. You can barely even talk to them when they are like that. I saw that spark in Morrigan’s eyes when she drank from me. Her demon blood helped her to stave off the bloodlust. Tonight, I planned to see it in full force.
The table was set, and I directed Morrigan to a chair at the otherwise empty table. I sat directly to her left, at the head of the table. She fixed her dress in her lap and folded her hands across her lap. She seemed to have some semblance of manners.
The doors opened with a bang, and a line of about twenty attractive shirtless vampires lined up behind Morrigan. All soldiers took rounds as maids and servants.
“What is this?” She asked, looking at them in horror.
“You are going to need a lot of blood, darling. Rather than having you kill a bunch of people, you may rather share the bite.” I wanted to watch her bite someone so badly. To sit and watch their skin tear apart as she lost herself in them.
“Go on, now. Get drinking. You’ll feel it when you’ve reached enough.” I sat back in my chair, crossing my ankle over my knee.
She got up slowly, approaching the first man in the line. I heard as she talked to him. Asked him his name and if he was ok with her drinking from him. She never asked me. Of course, all the vampires that were here wanted to be here. We lived for this kind of experience.
CHAPTER31
MORRIGAN
All these guys were so fucking tall. How in the hell was I supposed to drink from them unless someone got me a step stool? Wait a damn minute. I was a Princess of Hell.
“Hey Daz, could you get me a chair to sit on?” I asked the first blood donor, who was kind enough to let me know that everyone here knew what they were getting into.
He set off at once to grab the chair from the dining set, settling it down at my feet.
“Thank you,” I said with a smile as I took a seat. “Neck or wrist please,” I stated simply, putting my hand out.
Daz gave me a smirk, placing his arm on the chair as he leaned into my face. I think he was trying to flirt with me. He presented his exposed neck to me, and I could hear his blood as it pumped through his body. My fangs ached as the thirst reared its head.
