“Continue on then, so I can get on with playing with my new power.” I quipped back. I hoped he decided not to even bother, because holy shit, I wasn’t sure I could handle more biting without having an orgasm. I offered my wrist to him. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad that way.
He kept my back pressed firmly to his front. His arm banded my waist tightly as he brought my wrist to his mouth. His mouth was by my ear, and I could feel the low growl before his fangs plunged into my wrist. Nope, this way wasn’t any smoother. No wonder vampires liked to fuck.
I felt his pull on my blood throughout my body, as the zips of pain rushed through me like electricity. His arm gripped me harder, and I could feel his erection hard against my back. I couldn’t even blame him; it was the drinking. I was doing my best to avoid an awkward orgasm, but it was like I was trying to paddle a canoe against the current of an upcoming waterfall with a pool noodle.
His next bite came roughly, sending fleeting waves of bright hot pain as he growled against my skin. The deep pull of my blood tumbled my canoe right off that cliff. I tried my best not to cry out, so it just came out as whimpers as my body convulsed.
Jace held me still, his fangs no longer in my body. I could feel his heavy breathing as he held me tightly to him. Like I would disappear if he let me go.
“Did you just come, darling?” I could hear his smile. He stroked up my neck with his nose to the back of my ear.
“Yeah, sorry. Being drunk from was a new sensation. I tried hard not to, but it got the best of me. I’m sure it happens to a lot of young vampires.” Otherwise, things were about to get awkward.
“I’ve never seen a vampire come from being drank before,” he licked the shell of my ear.
Ah, Fuck. Now it’s awkward. “Guess I discovered a new kink. I’ll have to share it with my demon mates.” I said firmly. I needed to get back to them. Then we would need to have a long discussion about these weird feelings I’m getting from this vampire.
Jace released me. Mentioning my demons seemed to snap him out of it a bit. Maybe he was scared they would kill him if he touched me. I’m pretty sure kidnapping me already had the kill on sight ordered.
“So how do I find my fun new vampire power?” I wanted to lead the night back into teaching me all the vampire shit. We could go ahead and bury that little incident.
“It will emerge when you need it,” he said simply. His tone cut short.
“What’s your vampire power?” His eyes did that flashy thing where they turned white, and I couldn’t quite tell what that meant.
“I can slow time,” he said curtly, fixing up his outfit the best he could.
“Really? How do you do that?” I asked excitedly. That seemed like a really fucking cool power.
“It really uses a lot of power, so I don’t use it often. When I have used it, it’s been in moments where I feel like I could give anything for more time, and the world around me slows.” He was contemplative, as he weaved the words together so eloquently. There was a sadness too.
“Oh,” was all I managed.
“Now, I would say it is time for a shower and sleep, wouldn’t you agree, darling?” He straightened and backed away to give some space between our bodies before extending his arm as an invitation.
He led me from the room as if we erased the entire time we had spent in there alone from existence. Familiar paintings appeared as I recognized the hallway to my room. It better be some magical room from Hell type shit, because there was no shower in my room before.
He opened the door to what I was confident was my room. I halted in the hallway. No way was I missing out on taking a shower. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
“I know there isn’t a shower in there and I am covered in blood. You will not lock me in that room without having a shower first.” I crossed my arms over my chest.
“The door locks from the inside, not out. And your tether stretches throughout the castle. No one here will hurt you. You are free to wander about as you please.” He gave me a strange look like he didn’t just lock me up in a prison in his dungeon for close to a week. “And there is a shower. It’s beyond the bed, look.”
He strode into the room and grabbed the curtain beside the bedside table and pulling it to the side to reveal a door. He opened the doorway to reveal a large open stone overlook. I stepped into the room, shutting and locking the door behind me. I saw a bird glide through the air. Misty morning fog rolled down the sides of the mountain as treetops faded into view.
I went through the doorway and found the alcove continued to the side, with another door further down. There was a little showerhead between the rooms, jutting from the stone with no surrounding walls. Further toward the cliff was a large pool of water. It almost looked like a small swimming pool.
“The shower uses both hot and cold water from the castle, but we fill the pool with diverted water from the mountain. There is a fire to heat it, but it takes some time. Your vampire skin should be far more cold-tolerant now, though. You won’t need it too warm.” He went over and started loading a nearby pile of stones with a bunch of small sticks. It was like a little oven.
“How about I do it?” I said confidently, walking over to the pool and dipping my hands in. It was pretty fucking cold; I could feel that much. I sent the fire to my hands, pushing it out into the water, warming it instantly. I stopped when it was just comfortably warm.
Jace came over and dunked his arm in. He looked at me with surprise.
“Wow,” he said, clearly impressed. “I can clearly tell fire is your demon power. But why don’t we go shower the blood off us before we get into the pool?”
“I am not showering with you. You can go first. Is there some kind of swimsuit, or really even underwear, back in my room? All I have on is this dress.”
“You shower in a swimsuit?” He looked confused.
