MORRIGAN
“Up. Now.” Jace’s tone was all serious as he motioned for me to stand.
I already knew he figured out my escape plan. I would not blow my one excellent shot into an obvious trap. He never gave me access to the village without an escort. It was too close to the fae boundary. Nothing would stop me from still getting out of here tonight though. Plans just needed a little altering.
I rolled my eyes at Sebastian as I slowly stood. Jace’s eyes were that white color again. I think that was his monster, and he was just always on the brink of losing control. I really seemed to send him over the edge.
His hand was extended, so I took it. He yanked me to him, picking me up, then sped away. I was deposited, not so delicately, in the middle of a pile of sticks and leaves. Massive trees stood all around us, filtering through the bright moonlight. I listened to the sound of animals as they scurried around the forest. We must have disturbed quite a few with our sudden arrival.
“You can drink from animals if you need more than your daily ration. Learn how to become a predator. You walk around like you’re waiting to be handed everything you need, but I have seen it in your eyes, Morrigan. You are a predator. If you’re hungry, hunt.” Jace pointed out into the woods as even more wildlife scurried away from his outburst.
“I am not a spoiled princess. I am a prisoner, in case you have forgotten,” I sneered. I could only do what he allowed, so yeah; I forcibly depended on him right now.
Walking up to me slowly, every bit of his monster was on display. “Then leave!” he yelled, his body pinning me against one of the enormous trunks.
“I was,” I hissed out at him.
“Why didn’t you,” he whispered into my ear. He sounded so broken, and I couldn’t figure out what the hell that was supposed to mean.
“You,” I started. In a flash, his hands weaved through my hair as his lips crashed against mine.
My chest ached as I melted into the kiss. I wasn’t repulsed, not by a long shot. I was hungry for him, not thirsty. My body molded to his as he pushed us harder into the tree. His lips trailed down my neck as he sucked my flesh into his mouth. Was he giving me a hickey?
“No,” I growled, smacking him upside the head.
His hold on me was firm, but he slowly looked at me. His irises white while the rest was black. There he was.
“Mate,” he growled before he lunged at my neck, fangs bared.
His teeth ripping through me felt like heaven. And then he sucked. I was done for. The word mate floating through my mind, echoing before bouncing back. I could only feel the cold absence of my mate bond with this fucking collar on my neck.
My body physically reacted to his touch, and his teeth, and his voice, and his looks. Mate was plausible, but I also needed to talk to my other mates before things happen. But the way he pulled on my blood, and every other nerve ending in my body, was not a simple sensation to ignore.
He pushed into me, and I could feel his hard cock straining in his pants to be set free. I could feel it building inside me as he sucked deeper. Every bite he took sending more and more shocks of pain which only heightened the sensations.
“You taste so fucking good, love,” he growled, having released me just on the edge of my impending orgasm. “Have a taste,” his eyes flashed, and he leaned in for a kiss, lips and tongues coated with my blood.
My blood tasted amazing, but I knew what would taste even better. I bit down on his lip before sucking it into my mouth, groaning as the taste of him filled me.
He growled in response, battling with lips and tongue over dominance of the kiss.
My hands grabbed the back of his hair, raven black strands between my fingers, as I pulled him to me.
Jace suddenly stopped, as if he was turned to stone. “Someone is coming,” he whispered.
It was as if he just disappeared, but at least I knew better now. He was in shadow. I focused my power through my body, allowing all the surrounding darkness to come and make me one with it. I reached out with my mind to see who was nearby, and Jace was nowhere to be found. But there was no way I could have missed the minds of my boys as they were inching closer to me.
I turned the shadow power off and took off running through the woods. I flipped to my mental image now and then, just to be sure I was running in the right direction. I was happy to see Justice was in the lead, which I figured was because he was using his radar, too.
They found me. They actually found me.
Justice emerged through the trees, and into my sight first, as I predicted. He wore a crazy ass grin on his face as he spotted me and doubled his efforts. We met with arms wrapping around each other in a passionate embrace. His mouth met mine, and we kissed like it was our first time back at the feast.
He poured out every ache and pain he felt from being separated from me.
“Whose blood is on your lips, my fox?” Justice purred as he pulled back to look me in the eye with a smile.
“I’m pretty sure most of it is mine. But I may have a vampire mate named Jace. He was just drinking from me before I sensed you. I don’t know where he is.” I hoped Justice could understand all my conflicting emotions about this.
