“There you are!” She pulls me into a hug. “We were wondering when you were going to get here.”
“We?”
"Well, Nash has been trying to keep it cool, but he's been keeping an eye out for you since he arrived.”
A thrill of excitement shoots through me at just the mention of Nash's name. We haven't been able to talk about what happened the night I nearly dry humped him on his couch. Either he's been working on the ranch, or the girls were with us, or I was with my mom. I hope to find some alone time with him. I crave his lips and hands on my body.
“And I can see on your face that you can’t wait to see him too.” She chuckles.
“You can say that. The other night we were on the couch and—"
“Nope!” She holds up her hand to stop me. “I do not need to hear the details about you and my brother. I love you both but not that much.”
“Fair enough.” I chuckle.
“Oh, I almost forgot. You missed it earlier, so I told the mayor that I’d give it to you when you got here.”
“Give me what?”
“You won one of the raffle prizes.” She opens her clutch and pulls out an envelope. “It’s a free night at the Centennial Bed and Breakfast.”
Seeing as I live here, that doesn't seem like much of a prize, but an idea pops in my head. I lean over and whisper my plans to Willow. She tries to hide the smile on her face, but she nods in agreement. Now I just need to find Nash to get this plan in motion.
I sweep my gaze over the crowd of people standing around and talking. The music hasn’t started yet, but I hope Nash and I can get a slow dance tonight. A few people walk away, and I suddenly see his familiar broad shoulders standing with his back to me. Almost as if he can sense my presence, he turns, and we lock eyes.
A low pulse thrums between my legs when his eyes find mine, and that sexy grin of his begins to spread across his face. It feels like the world and the people around just melt away, and it's only us here. The realization at this moment that I'm falling in love with Nash takes my breath away.
But the moment of just the two of us is short-lived when two sets of little arms encircle my waist, their owners talking a mile a minute up at me. I look down and see Abbie's face is painted blue and purple with stars looking like a galaxy, and Sophie's looks like a unicorn with a horn on her forehead.
“Whoa! You two look amazing!”
They both beam proudly.
“I’m never going to wash it off,” Sophie informs me.
"Well, I think your pillowcase will have a say in the matter tonight." I laugh.
"I was worried you weren't going to make it." Nash's deep voice brings the throbbing back, and I have to hold back the slight moan inside me wanting to come out.
“Girls,” Willow leans down to her nieces. “Who’s hungry for a corndog?”
"Me!" They both yell, and each takes one of her hands as she leads them away. But not without giving Nash, and I a wink over her shoulder.
"I think Willow just became my favorite sibling." Nash smiles and turns back to me. His breathing increases as he takes in my appearance. "You look so beautiful."
He’s about to lean in and kiss me, but I turn at the last minute, so he kisses my cheek.
“People are watching,” I tell him.
“Do you not want people to know?” He asks, the hint of hurt in his voice.
“What? No!” I clear my throat and lower my voice. “I figured you didn’t want people knowing.”
Nash wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me against him. “I want everyone to know that you are mine,” he tells me. His voice gruff and possessive.
I squeeze my legs together to ease the increasing pleasurable ache building between them. I hope that plan comes together tonight because I don't think my battery-operated boyfriend will be enough to satiate the need I have for Nash.
The band on stage begins to strum the opening chords of a slow song, and Nash walks me out onto the dance floor. He holds me close to him, and I don't even care that people are watching us.
