Jules: It's not?
Griffin: Yeah, I've used sex as a way to kill time. Or drown out my thoughts. But it's mostly been something to do. With you, it's different. It's like every molecule in my body understands every molecule in yours.
With sex, I understand her. I know what she wants, what she needs, how to give it to her.
Right now?
I have no fucking clue how to be what she needs.
Jules: We've only done it once.
Griffin: I want to fix that.
Jules: You're not mad?
Griffin: When do I get mad?
Jules: When someone hurts me.
Griffin: Has someone?
Jules: Not like that.
Griffin: Like what?
Jules: You know I called off my engagement four days ago.
Griffin: Five now.
Jules: Damn, you got me. That fifth day makes it so much easier to process.
Griffin: You still love him?
Jules: I don't know. You can't turn off loving someone. Even when they did something to poison your love.
Griffin: It's okay if you do.
Jules: You won't be jealous?
Griffin: He's slept next to you for the last four years. Of course I'm jealous.
Jules: I've never seen you jealous before.
Griffin: You still can't.
Jules: I have the back of your head. It's cute jealous.
Griffin: How can you tell?
Jules: The way the hair curls.
Griffin: That's a load.
Jules: Maybe it's like… there's this storytelling principle. If you show a blank expression, then a hamburger, then the same blank expression, people will assume a character is hungry.
Griffin: And you skipped lunch?
Jules: Yes, but that's not my point.
