"It's okay. It's okay. I've got you," he says into my ear as I press my nose into his chest, breathing in his scent and allowing it to ground me. "Come on, let's get out of here."

I feel him lean over as if he's grabbing something before he walks me inside.

I don't look up or at where we're going, I keep my eyes squeezed shut and trust that he'll look after me.

"What's wrong?" Leon says a second before I sense him come to a stop in front of us.

"I don't know. I'm taking her upstairs."

As he speaks, Luca's body trembles as he tries to contain his anger.

I don't think any of us needs to say his name out loud to know who's reduced me to this mess.

"Lee," I whisper, holding my hand out for him.

He takes it without a second thought, squeezing in support as Luca starts walking again.

The three of us climb the stairs, leaving the party behind and not long later, one of them closes a door behind us and the volume of the music muffles before I'm lowered to the edge of a bed.

I blow out a shaky breath, feeling both of their concerned stares on me as I keep my eyes trained on the floor.

"Here," Luca says, handing me a bottle of vodka. My head tells me that I've already had too much too fast, but my heart ruptures once again and I blindly reach for it.

"Whoa. Take it easy, Let," Leon says, taking the bottle from me after I've swallowed a few shots.

Luca's arm remains wrapped around my body, his fingertip digging into my waist where he's holding tight.

"What did he do, Let?"

I look up and gasp at the darkness in Luca's eyes as he begs me to tell him that Kane has fucked up, that he can say those magic little words 'I told you so.'

"He… He…" I swallow down the sob that wants to rip from my throat. "Someone else."

"Motherfucker," Leon barks before something on the other side of the room crashes to the floor.

Luca's silent but his jaw tics with frustration and a vein pulsates in his temple, silently showing me how furious he is.

"She's… she's preg—" I can't get the word out as the sob finally spills free.

My tears fall freely as I shatter into a million pieces in front of both of them.

"Shit, Letty." Luca takes my face in his giant hands, his thumbs wiping away my tears.

I close my eyes, waiting for him to say the words that I know are coming. But when he speaks, it's not what I expect.

"What do you need? Tell me how to make it better."

My eyes flick up to his. The darkness is still there, but there's a sparkle of something else that I can't get a read on as the vodka flows through my veins.

"Luc," Leon warns as he comes to sit on the other side of me.

"I-I—"

"Letty?" Luca growls as he closes the space between us slightly.

My heart rate picks up and relief floods me that the pain somewhat subsides with the way he's looking at me.

"M-make it go away. P-please."
