"I think we need to go and get a coffee, and properly talk."
"I need to go to the library. I've got an assignment to do," I lie.
"Not happening. Ella is busy, and me and you need to sit down and hash a few things out."
I go to argue with her but the second I glance over, I watch as she lifts her cell to her ear.
"Hey," she says, a smile twitching at her lips. "Yeah. Coffee shop. Ten minutes? Great. See you there."
"Who was that?"
"Someone else who wants to talk."
"Why do I feel like this is an ambush?"
"Probably because it is."
"Great."
"Aw, come on. It's not that bad. We're just worried about Luca and we think you probably hold all the answers."
"Prior to a few weeks ago, I'd not seen him for five years."
"That may be true, Peyton. But I'm pretty sure he's never really let you go."
She gives me a small reprieve as we walk toward the coffee shop and instead of grilling me about Luca she turns the conversation to work.
We order and find ourselves a table before the person she was speaking to on the phone appears. I know the second he walks in because the volume of chatter dips.
Glancing over my shoulder, I guess I shouldn't be surprised to find Leon stalking our way.
"Morning, ladies," he says, wrapping Letty in a bear hug when she stands to greet him. "Peyton," he nods when I don't make a move to receive the same welcome.
Leon and I were never close. Just friends because of mine and Luca's closeness. I'm sure we could be friends though, we just never really got the chance.
He twists the chair around and sits on it backward, pulling his coffee that Letty bought for him closer.
"P tell you about her weekend then?" He asks, looking between the two of us.
I shake my head.
"I was waiting for you," Letty tells him before they both turn their eyes on me.
"Jesus," I mutter.
"We just want to help," Leon says, sincerity bleeding from his tone.
I stare down at my coffee for a moment. If they expect me to spill all mine and Luca's secrets then they're going to have to think again because that's not going to happen. Leon clearly has no idea what happened between us and it's not my place to tell him when Luca obviously doesn't want him to know.
"I know, but there's no need. Luca and I, we've… put our issues to bed."
Leon scoffs. "Oh yeah because that's what was going down in a bed this weekend."
"Leon," Letty chastises.
"What? Luca locked her in the pool house at the Kappa house."
"He what?" she seethes.
