"Luc," she moans.
"I told myself I would let you rest tonight, but you're making it really damn hard to keep that promise."
"So don't. Break your own rule, Luca Dunn," she challenges.
"Get in the car, Peyton," I all but growl.
"You're going to need to move then," she points out.
"Jesus. You drive me insane, P."
The smile that curls at her lips melts my heart.
I stand back to allow her to open the door, but I snag her hand before she slips inside.
She looks up at me with her wide silver eyes that only sparkle brighter in the moonlight.
"I love you, Peyton."
"Yeah?" she asks with a wicked twinkle in her eye. "You'd better show me then."
She drops into the passenger seat and closes the door before I have a chance to respond.
Unable to wipe the smile off my face, I jog around to the driver's side and climb in.
"I hope you like it wild, baby."
"You know I do."
I floor the accelerator and throw her back into her seat, my impatience to get her alone once more becoming unbearable.
"Hey look," Colt announces as the two of us walk into the house only a few minutes later. "Luca's smiling."
"Fuck you," I bark, but I still can't wipe the smile off my face.
"He just needed to get laid, I told you this," Evan pipes up.
"Ignore them, they're just jealous.”
"How's Ella these days, Colt?" I ask with a wink.
His face tightens before Peyton joins in, really rubbing salt in his wound.
"Last I heard, she was banging a marine. First guy to really show her a good time, if you get what I mean."
Evan and a couple of the other guys damn near choke on their beers at my girl's response.
"Oh burn, bro. Luca, your girl is da bomb."
I pull her tighter into my body.
"I know. Turn the volume up, boys."
"Hell yeah, get it, bro," Evan calls, thrusting his hips for added effect as we leave the kitchen as quickly as we arrived.
"I can't believe you just said that."
"Why not? They all know what we're going to do."
