“N-no, you don’t have t—”

“I’m coming. I’m not letting you do that alone.”

“Lee—”

“I want to be by your side, Macie. Nothing you can say will deter me.”

“Don’t you have breakfast with Kayden tomorrow morning,” I point out, remembering him saying that it was usually a weekly thing.

“Shit. I can’t let him down. We didn’t do it last week. But… fuck.”

Throwing my leg over his waist, I hold his cheeks in my hands and stare into his eyes.

“We’ll go after your breakfast. It’s not like he’s going anywhere,” I deadpan.

Reaching up, his giant hands cover mine.

“You’re coming too. I want you to meet Kayden.”

My stomach flips at the thought of meeting more of his family. Although I quickly figure that meeting a five-year-old can’t be half as terrifying as meeting his mother.

“O-okay.”

Leaning forward, he brushes his lips over mine. I want to say no, to pull away knowing that my breath is less than fresh but the second we connect, I’m powerless but to move into his body and return the kiss.

“What time is it?”

“Almost four-thirty,”

“Hmm…” He nuzzles my neck. “What can we do with all this extra time we have?”

“Sleep?” I suggest, much to his amusement.

“Not what I had in mind, Red.”

His hand slips under my shirt—his jersey— and finds my bare breasts.

“Lee.” I moan when he squeezes them before rolling my nipples between his fingers.

“Now that’s more like it.”

He licks a trail up my neck and to my ear.

“We’ve got things to celebrate, after all.”

It’s wrong. So freaking wrong. But at the same time, totally right.

“I guess we have.”

“Leon, are you ready?” Luca shouts two minutes before we’re due to leave to pick up Kayden for breakfast.

“Yeah, don’t get your panties in a twist.”

“I swear to God, if we’re late to get him because you’re getting la—”

I pull the door open, smiling brightly at Leon’s twin brother.
