“Clear your head?” Elani gasped.
No doubt she’d felt it too. The sea god—was in love.
“Did you meet someone?” Elani placed a hand on his forearm.
Poseidon dragged a hand over his beard with a deep sigh. “It’s—complicated, to say the least. Not so sure she’s on the same page as me.” His face fell, and he shook his head as if dizzy. “Why the shit did I just blurt that out?”
“Between the two of us, our love mojo can be pretty strong.” Elani gave a half-smile and rubbed his arm.
“I—” Poseidon backpedaled and shook his head, sending the water in his hair in a sea spray around us. “Put it on pause, would you? This is something I gotta deal with on my own.”
“Do you want us to leave, P?” I jutted my thumb behind me.
Elani frowned at Poseidon, clearly concerned.
“No, no. You two stay as long as you want. I should be heading back anyway. The longer I keep drifting around it, the longer I’m avoiding the inevitable.” Poseidon smirked and raked a hand through his wet hair. “I’ll be seeing you. Enjoy your Valentine’s, love gods.” He winked at us both before diving back into the water.
“I feel so bad for him, babe.” Elani stepped to the cliff’s edge until she could lean over and look into the water.
“He’s a big boy. He’ll figure it out.”
“It was so strange. The love I felt flowing from him was deep-seated. I didn’t think that was possible with someone you’ve just met. It takes time for it to blossom into something so searing, doesn’t it?”
Stepping behind her, I massaged her shoulders. “You’re right. Not entirely sure what to make of it.”
Elani’s gaze panned to the sky—darkness overtaking it as evening settled in. “Remember when I asked you if you slept in the clouds when we first met?”
I took a step back with a quirked brow. “Yes?”
She turned to face me with a sultry smile, and her wings flared out.

E L A N I
We shot into the sky, spiraling around one another as we flapped our wings. We kept ascending, reaching for the stars until we plunged through the wispy clouds and hovered above them. A bright burst of sparks exploded in the distance, vibrant red, pink, and white—fireworks.
Eros chuckled and nuzzled against my cheek, keeping us afloat so I could relax my wings. “Looks like they’re holding a festival of their own down there.”
“This couldn’t be any more perfect.” I slid my arms around his neck, kissing him and rubbing an arch of his wings.
He groaned into my mouth and slid his massive hands to my butt before spiraling us higher with one strong flap of his wings. “You brought up about sleeping in the clouds, but doyouremember when I told you there were so many things we could do withtwosets of wings?”
My stomach flipped over itself as I vividly recalled the first moment my wings appeared amidst the Fairy Pools in Scotland. He’d been on his knees in front of me with his face buried between my breasts when he said it.
“Do you think I’m ready?” My wings rustled in anticipation.
He traced his fingers over the arch of my wing, making me shiver. “More than ready. You’re a strong flyer now, Lani.” He brushed his nose over my cheek. “Come Fly with Me.”
And now he quoted Frank Sinatra. The things this man did to me…
Pressing my fingers against his chest, I made his clothes disappear in spiraling silver glitter that became one with the stars. He trailed his touch down my back, dematerializing my clothes, adding to the brightness of the full moon above us.
“I’ll keep us both afloat for the most part. But there’s always air currents to lift us back up.” He pulled me to him, coaxing me to wrap my legs around his waist. “Remember that.”
My heart thundered in my chest, harmonizing with the booms of the fireworks. Tipping backward, he beat his wings until he lay on his back with me perched atop him. I bit my lip as I stared down at him framed by those thrashing white wings, keeping us from plummeting to the ground. Scraping my nails over the light scattering of dark hair on his chest, I fluttered my wings to lift me just enough before lowering myself onto him.
Groaning as he filled me, I let my head fall back, my wings going taut once our hips met. Eros moaned and had to flap his wings to keep us level. With my feet dangling in a free fall on each side of my soulmate, suspended in mid-air, I rocked back and forth, grinding against him. As I writhed, I traced my fingers down my throat, tangling them in my hair as his hardness brushed that sensitive spot within me over and over with each roll of my hips.
