My mother glared at me as she took Hedone into her arms. “Fine. I guess Idoowe you, and it’ll be nice for us to have some girl time.”
“That’s the spirit.” I kissed the top of my daughter’s head. “I’ll pop in to get her in a couple of days.”
Aphrodite pinched Hedone’s cheek. “You two have fun, alright?”
“Oh, believe me.” I tossed her a wicked grin. “We will.”
And I ported back to my awaiting goddess.

I’d had every intention of taking advantage of my husband when he returned since we had no child in the near vicinity. But my body had other plans—sleep. Who knew an immortal goddess could experience exhaustion like a mortal mother? I awoke the next morning with Eros behind me, his head resting between my wings and his arm curled over my stomach.
After yawning, I nuzzled against him. “I’m sorry, babe.”
“For what?” He pulled me tighter against him.
“I wanted to ravish you as soon as you got back yesterday.”
He let out a deep chuckle. “We’ll have plenty of time for ravishing after we get through today.” He placed a light kiss between my shoulder blades before sitting up, stretching his arms above his head.
“How’d Aphrodite take it when you asked her to babysit?” I sat up and curled my knees to my chest with a smile.
He ruffled his hair. “About as I suspected. Apprehensive at first, but after reminding her, sheraiseda kid with wings, she warmed up to it.”
“Did you, too, try to fly into rotating ceiling fan blades as a child?” I bit back my grin.
He laughed and shook his head. “Mom never mentioned it, but I’m sure I was a pain in the ass in some other form.”
I rested my chin on my knees as I tried to imagine him as anything but a gorgeous grown man with a wide wingspan. “Come here,” I whispered to him.
A gooey smile passed over his lips as he crawled across the bed on his hands and knees. I opened my legs and reached for him, laying on my back as he moved over me and fanning my wings out. He trailed a single finger across my forehead and gazed down at me with affection blazing in his stare.
“Make love to me.” I pressed each of my knees against his ribs, pulling his face toward mine.
His sapphire eyes took on a smolder as he grazed my cheek. Brushing his lips over mine, he kissed me. Memories of our first kiss in Scotland near the roaring bonfire flashed through my mind. It’d been the most mind-blowing kiss of my mortal life, and now, even as a goddess, his kisses—his touch—still never failed to give me tingles.
His massive white wings bristled as he swirled his hand over our bodies, turning what little clothes we wore into golden shimmers. Dragging my nails over his taut pecs, I raised my hips, already craving him inside of me.
He peeled away from the kiss and gleamed down at me as he hitched one of my legs in the crook of his arm. “You’re so damn beautiful.”
Trailing my foot over his butt, I landed on his lower back and pulled him closer. “You are.”
Smiling, accentuating the cleft in his chin, he pushed into me, and I gasped.
Arching my back, I curled my wings inward, using the soft feathers to caress our arms. I tangled my fingers in his dark hair before pulling his head near my chest. His warm tongue lapped over one of my nipples as he rolled his hips, dipping in and out of me. Using their size, which far surpassed my own wings, Eros cocooned us, making our union surrounded by nothing but his white feathers and my pale pink ones. I smiled at my soulmate—my world, moving my hips in time with his thrusts and letting out a contented sigh. He grinned back and dragged his thumb over my bottom lip.
My insides began to clench as the familiar twisting stirred in my core. He pumped faster, harder, until I tensed and cried out, digging my fingers into his shoulders as I shivered through my release. Eros’s wings snapped behind him as he grunted and moaned, spilling himself inside of me and resting his forearms on each side of my head.
“I love our daughter with every dying breath, but I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t missed this.” Eros half-smiled and traced his fingers through my hair.
I rubbed his side with my knee and cupped his face. “I know what you mean.”
And I did. Ever since Hedone was born, we still had sex, of course, but not unbridled as we just had.
Eros let out a deep sigh and pressed his forehead to mine. “We’ve got to get to work, sweetheart.”
