Your little seahorse,

Rhode

Cordelia burst into tears, and I hugged her to me, letting her bury her face against my chest. “I forgot you call her that.”

“Cory, sweetheart. This is great news.” I stroked the back of her head, my sinuses stinging at the sound of her sobbing, the sight of her shoulders bouncing.

“I knew she was alive. I’d have felt it if she wasn’t, but you’re right. It’s extra assurance.” Cory peeled back and gave me a weakened smile.

Staring at the parchment penned by my daughter from a time long past, I let out a roiling sigh. “There is no way, that in all the power of all Olympus, there isn’t one god capable of time travel. I refuse to believe a captured Titan is the only one.”

“And that’s why—” Cordelia sniffled and rolled her shoulders back. “We’re putting a call to arms. Summon Hermes. Summon Iris. They can cover more ground with both of them doing it.”

“And bypass Zeus?” My heart hummed at the sight of her retaking control.

“You’re damn right. This is our daughter, not his. We have every right.” A sheen of sparkling scales flashed over Cordelia’s eyes. “I’m Queen again—and it’s about time I start acting like one.”

And long may she reign.
