Swerving down the road,I ignored all red lights and stop signs. I needed to get to them; it was the only thing on my mind. My hand tightened around the steering wheel. I could hear Sayge’s voice through the speakers, which was the only reason I wasn’t running people over when they got in the way.

“Hey, Dar, stop,” Sayge said.

“Fuck off, Sayge,” Dar growled back.

He sounded angry, and I understood. Nothing but pure rage was inside of me. My phone started ringing, and I checked it. Ken. I forward the call. I wasn’t willing to get off the phone with Sayge until I saw all three of their faces and ensured they were okay.

A heavy sigh left Sayge, and my hold on the steering wheel tightened. If I had kept them, none of this would have happened. I gritted my teeth as I tried to get to them as soon as possible.

“Talk to me,” I said.

He sounded better when he did. And although I knew I was headed toward them, it wasn’t enough to quiet the storm inside of me.

“What do you want to know?” Sayge asked. He sounded exhausted.

What happened to my seductive angel?

“How are the other two?”

Sayge was quiet for a second, and my stomach tightened further as I took a sharp right.

“About as good as you can expect after losing everything,” Sayge said.

“I’m going to take care of this,” I promised.

A soft laugh came over the speaker. It wrapped around me, making my shoulders ease just a bit.

“I’d like that,” Sayge confessed.

I looked up, checking the streets. “I’m almost there.”

“Good.” There was movement over the line before Sayge spoke again. “Elio, Cal—He doesn’t know I called you. But you can’t leave him out here no matter what.”

“Sayge.”

“Yeah?”

“I said I was coming to get what was mine, right?” I asked, accelerating the closer I reached the place they were.

“I know, but—”

“There are no buts.” I hit the brakes when I saw him, long silver hair tied up and a phone pressed to his ear. His eyes widened, and I didn’t waste another second as I parked the car. I shoved the door open, and Sayge stared at me all of five seconds before he ran toward me.

I caught him the moment he reached me. My arm wrapped around his slender waist, bringing his lips to mine. It had only been five days since I had his mouth, but it was five too many. Every flick of his tongue brought me closer to ruin. How could I have let them walk out of my life?

Sayge pulled back. His eyes were puffy as if he’d been crying, and that only made me that much angrier.

“What happened?” I asked.

Sayge shook his head. “I don’t know, we were—”

“I know you went to the latest light show and out to dance.”

“Were you following us?” Sayge asked. He didn’t sound upset.

“Most days, but due to work, I couldn’t be there today.” I ground my teeth as the frustration set in, and I wanted nothing more than to kill someone.

Sayge smiled. “Then how—” Sayge shook his head. “Later. They are down there.”
