The front of my shirt was yanked, and I blinked as I was pulled onto the desk. I placed both hands on the cool wood holding myself up as I stared into Elio’s eyes. My tongue felt heavy, but my brain had thankfully shut up.

We stayed like that for what felt like forever, even as my arms started to shake.

“Never mind.” Elio let me go.

My chest ached as I remained unmoving. Was he giving up on me?I shouldn’t have said those things to him when he came to get us.

“Get down and come over here.” Elio pointed next to him, and I scrambled off the desk and stood next to him.

He reached up and cupped my face. “Kneel.”

I licked my lips as I dropped down on my knees and rested my ass on the back of my calves.

“Stay.”

It was a simple order, and as Elio turned away and powered on his computer, I stayed next to him. He worked, and as I realized he wasn’t kicking me out, I relaxed. Time moved by in a blur, and I found my mind wandering to nothingness. It hadn’t been that peaceful since the night we’d gone home with Elio.

Calloused fingers gripped my chin and tilted my head back. I blinked as Elio came into focus.

“Come closer and rest your head on my leg.”

My heart fluttered, and I crawled under the desk and rested my head on his lap. I closed my eyes and breathed in his comforting scent. He pushed his fingers through my hair, and I calmed down even further.

“All you have to do is obey me,” Elio said.

I closed my eyes and bit my lip. “Can I?”

Elio said nothing, and I opened my eyes once more.

“Yes.”

Euphoria blanketed me, and I sagged against him. “Thank you.”

For now, I’d give in to the need to submit and let someone else dictate what happens. A heavy weight lifted off my shoulders, and instant guilt hit me, making my stomach turn.

I looked up at Elio. “Sayge and Dar?”

“They are taken care of. Just as I will take care of you.”

He made it sound so simple.

“That’s—”

“No more talking. I need to work,” Elio said.

I shut my mouth and believed in Elio. Fuck it. At that point, we had nothing else to lose.

Getting up was much easier now. I peeked at Sayge and Dar. We still hadn’t talked even three days later. There was so much I needed to say, like sorry, and explain how much they both meant to me. Still, whenever I went to say something, either Dar walked away or I froze up.

Hiding away with Elio or in the room was becoming the norm. I knew it was only me avoiding what I needed to do. If only Elio would order me to talk to them and apologize. It would take it out of my hands, and I wouldn’t have so much trouble with what I needed to do.

Yet, that wasn’t right either.

“Man, that was good,” Dar said. He sat up from the table, moved over to the living room, and turned on some fight.

I was glad Dar and Sayge were so comfortable. They looked at home with Elio, and nothing bothered them. Unlike me, whose brain only shut up when Elio made it.
