I closed my eyes. How in the hell had we gotten so lucky with finding Elio?He not only promised us the world but delivered.

* * *

Being stuck at the warehouse without Elio wasn’t the same. It had been day three, and he still hadn’t come home. He wasn’t texting back nearly as fast as he’d been before. I stared at the last message we sent him. Calvin had said he missed him. Sayge added he was horny, and I’d asked for his delicious spaghetti.

Missing someone was so strange, but there was no doubt in my mind that I missed Elio. He’d come into our lives at the worst time and made it the best. I couldn’t remember the last time I was so full all the time and slept so well.

I dropped the phone to the side as I gave up waiting. It had been well over three hours. “I’m bored out of my mind,” I said. I draped over the couch. I was over watching television, and I’d trained earlier with Ken before he and Elio left.

Novak was left behind with us, and he glanced up from his book.

“Don’t expect me to entertain you. Elio will slit my throat.”

I didn’t doubt that. Instead of that fact making me cringe, I smiled.

“Something is wrong with all of you, but I guess that’s to be expected,” Novak said.

“What’s wrong with us?” Sayge asked, making his way down the stairs. He wore loose sandy-colored pants with a fitted black halter top.

“Sayge, entertain me,” I whined.

“I can suck your cock, and we can send the video to Elio.”

“And that’s my cue to get up and walk away,” Novak said. He pushed himself off the couch and headed toward the door. “No one opens a window and tries to sneak out.” He pointedly looked at me.

I couldn’t say I hadn’t thought about it.

“Maybe I will, maybe I won’t,” I joked. Novak might die, but Elio might seriously tear my ass off if I did something that stupid.

“Wait,” Calvin called out. “Actually, I was hoping you could take us to the store. I need to get a few things for dinner.”

I jumped off the couch. Sayge’s blowjob idea sounded awesome, but it had been a while since we’d been outside the warehouse.

“It’s only me. We should stay in,” Novak said, scratching at his chin hair.

“Oh,” Calvin nodded, already giving up. Still, I winked at Sayge, and he moved forward.

“Please, Novak. It’s a quick trip to the grocery store. What could possibly happen?” He batted his lashes and smiled sweetly. “Plus, it’s still bright out. We will be quick.”

Grocery shopping might seem like a bore to some. To me, it was an experience I enjoyed every single time, especially now that we could grab any and everything we wanted.

Novak groaned, but I could see it in his eyes. We were going to the store.

“Fine, but stick close to me at all times.”

I high-fived Sayge the moment Novak turned around. Calvin shook his head at us but smiled as he put his shoes on. He might have disapproved, but he wouldn’t tell Novak.

We practically sprinted out of the warehouse and leaped into the black sedan.

The door closed, and I sank back into the leather seat.

“What do you need anyway from the store? And why the special stuff for some cake?” I asked.

Calvin grinned. “You guys don’t remember what today is?”

I cracked my knuckles as I thought about the few things we’d celebrated over the years. It wasn’t any of our birthdays, and considering how hot it was, it sure as fuck wasn’t Christmas.

Sitting up straight. “Oh, shit.” It was the anniversary of when we’d run away and started a new life. Outside of the abuse and neglect.
