“You can’t do this,” Rocco said. He seethed as he was forced to the ground. He glared at me. “You’re just going to get them killed now.”
I turned away from him as I walked over to Sayge and lightly touched his face. His pale skin was a deep red on his cheek. It was warm to the touch. I went to untie his wrist, and he flinched when I touched them. One was already turning blue. If I could, I’d raise every bastard in there and kill them all over again.
“I’m okay,” Sayge whispered.
He wasn’t. I took my knife out and cut the rope. A sigh left him, and he looked at me over his shoulder. His dark blue eyes shimmered with unshed tears.
I was infuriated even more than I’d been before. I went to stand up, but Sayge stopped me. “I know you have to go to the others.”
He pressed his face in the crook of my neck and took in a shuddering breath. I ignored Rocco’s belligerent yelling and held Sayge for a moment.
He collected himself, pulled back, and gave me a sweet smile. I couldn’t speak yet. Anything that came out of my mouth would be intangible. My rage still ruled heavily over me.
I made my way to Calvin. I expected to see anger or fear in his eyes. There was blood and bodies everywhere. The only two I’d spared were the two I wanted to kill the most.
Yet Calvin grinned at me the moment I stopped in front of him. “You came.”
His words were barely above a whisper. I did the same as I’d done with Sayge and checked him over.
I’d always come for them no matter what. Even if they were placed above a volcano in the middle of nowhere. I’d be there.
“Thank you.”
He had nothing to thank me for. I knew keeping them was dangerous and that they’d catch the eyes of those who hated me. Still, being without them wasn’t an option either.
I freed Calvin, and he kissed me on the cheek. It was soft and pleasant, unlike my current mood. He stood up and went to sit next to Sayge. They whispered to each other as I went to check on Dar.
Out of the three, he was the most battered. His nose looked broken. Blood was caked on his face, but even so, he never stopped glaring at Rocco.
“Untie me so I can return the fucking favor,” he growled.
My fighter.Even now, when he was clearly hurt badly, he wanted to keep going. I cut the rope, and he tried to jump up. Yet he tripped, and I caught him.
“Fuck,” Dar winced.
He tried again, and I pushed him back down. I forced my rage down. “Stay.”
Dar looked at me like I’d kicked him. I normally wanted to give him everything he wanted, but this wasn’t happening. He sat down, and Calvin and Sayge stood behind me.
I looked at Calvin. “Watch them.” I knew they’d listen to him in the end.
Calvin gave a single nod.
I stood back up and walked over to the dumb fuck who’d dared to touch what was mine. The idea of killing him right then and there was too appetizing.
“Umm…Elio,” Andino tried talking.
I glanced his way, and he shut up instantly.
“Get the fuck off me!” Rocco tried to break free of Feleti’s hold. “You’re going to side with this pussy instead of me?”
Sighing, I held out my hand, and Ken tossed me his phone. I called the old man up. Every second that passed was another Rocco got to breathe.
“You’re dead, you hear me?” Rocco shouted as the old man answered the phone.
“Put me on speaker.”
I hit the speaker and stared at Rocco as the old man’s voice cracked through the phone.
