“Boy, you thought you could fuck me.”

Rocco went still in Feleti’s hold. “Dad?”

“I was willing to overlook so many of your shortcomings but to put the entire family at risk for your greed. Not to mention the drugs, the lies, and the dealings you did behind my back.”

“It was for the family.“ Rocco stared at the phone in fear.

Yet the old man wasn’t the one he should be afraid of because it didn’t matter what he said. Rocco was never going to see another day.

“Don’t bullshit me. It was for your own benefit.”

“No, it wasn’t. I had plans to tell you,” Rocco pleaded.

“You have disgraced the family. Hopefully, your son will be better than you.” The phone went dead, and I put it back away.

Rocco shook. “Wait—” He looked up at me with misplaced hope. “Money. I can get you so much money and more boy toys. Everything you could possibly need. I know people.”

I stopped in front of him and pulled out my gun. “You took everything I needed and tried to kill them.”

“No, I wanted to talk—”

I fired off the gun, and the bullet shattered his head into pieces. It splattered all over. The kill was oddly satisfying, even if I normally preferred the torture method. There was something about killing Rocco before he could plead for his life that was far more enjoyable.

Andino screamed, and I glanced his way.

“Please, cousin. I was just following orders.” Andino whimpered. He shook his head. “I-I didn’t know they were important to you.”

“Yes, he did!” Calvin’s voice carried through the dank abandoned building.

Andino flinched. I’d dreamed of killing him since I could remember. All of them had been drawn out and had brought a smile to my face. Yet, staring down at him now, all I could think about was my boys scared and hurt.

I aimed at his head, and tears burst free from Andino as he tried to wiggle away. I jerked my head, and Ken took a step back, allowing Andino to wiggle away. He was leaving a wet trail of piss.

I watched him for a few seconds as he pleaded and whined, failing to get far. I lifted my gun back up and pulled the trigger. The bullet hit him in the right calf first, and I pulled again and again. Shooting each limb. He went still screaming, making a bigger mess with his blood.

One more shot ended his miserable existence. I stood there all of five seconds, not even willing to wait to see his last breath. I returned my boys. The moment I was only a foot away from them, all three of them came at me. Sayge fell against my chest and Dar on my right. He was breathing strangely. Calvin pressed up against my left side, his face against my suit.

“I’m dirty,” I said.

“We don’t care,” Calvin answered.

Good, because I didn’t think I’d last another second apart from them.I was gentle as I pulled them closer.

“Elio, we are going to get this cleaned. I’ll also get the doc sent to your place. Why don’t you head home? I called Devyn. He’s going to come get us,” Ken said.

Dar pulled back and winced. “What happened to Novak?”

“His throat was slit, but luckily someone called the ambulance when they saw it happen. The cut wasn’t deep. He got out of surgery about an hour ago, and he’s stable.”

All three of them relaxed against me. Sayge looked up. “Can we go home now?”

Tension eased out of me as I realized they wanted to stay with me, not that I thought I could let them go.

Finally, I had them to myself in my bed, clean and tucked away. My hands shook as I sat at the bed’s edge staring at them. I’d nearly lost them. My chest felt heavy as they snored, none the wiser to the turmoil inside me.

I turned away, fearing I might fall to the thought of chaining them up. They were far too important to me. I couldn’t possibly hurt them, and I knew imprisoning them, regardless of reasons, would do just that.
