CHAPTERTHIRTY-EIGHT

DOMINIC

He changed into a loose T-shirt and swim shorts and made his way outside to the pool.

On the way he took a jug of Xenia’s homemade lemonade out and two glasses in case Eleni decided to join him.

She said she wanted alone time, and he respected that. He hated that she had had more than her fair share of having to deal with men who behaved like feral pigs. His blood boiled thinking about women having to deal with such unwanted attention.

But the fact that it had been Eleni, intensified everything. Twice now she’d suffered the worst of men in situations that he knew of, but he sensed it had happened many times and it made him want to protect her and keep her close more than ever.

No way did he want to return to the wedding celebrations. No way was he going to leave her alone now.

But he was not in control of his feelings. He’d been shaking when he’d helped her with her dress, but how much of that was due to the rage that still engulfed him, or him being nervous around her, he wasn’t sure.

It had required all of his superhuman powers to undo her hooks and not press his lips to her skin.

And he’d hated himself for even thinking that way.

Jesus fucking hell.

How had it come to this between them?

He’d gone from trying to keep her at bay, tothis.

And now he was suffering for his sins.

With hard ons galore.

Sexy, porn-level fantasies playing in his mind.

He hated himself for every single one of them.

Men couldn’t hold back around Eleni, and he didn’t want to be that type of man, ever. There was a world’s difference between him and Ioannis. He had to tread even more carefully around Eleni because this weekend she was all he could think of and he didn’t want it to be that way.

She’d seeped into his skin, sunk deep into his DNA. Being around her was hard on his soul, hard on his heart, and even harder on his dick. This was why a part of him hoped she would stay in her room for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow she’d be gone.

He was staying on for a few more days hoping to have a few business meetings, hopefully with Galatis if the man could get time away from his family celebrations.

He sighed, sitting back and sipping the cold homemade lemonade and reflected on his weekend. Being here, with Eleni, not at the wedding, was perfect.

He was checking the messages on his phone when he heard the flapping of flip flops. Eleni in denim shorts and a tank top, her face scrubbed clean of make up, and her hair trailing down her back, appeared in view. The image went directly from his visual senses to his dick.

What was she trying to do to him?

Give him another tortured night?

A heart attack?

Blue balls?

His heart jumpstarted and he set his phone down so fast, so carelessly that it scuttled across the table and landed on the floor with a loud smack.

Another phone damaged.

Eleni snorted a giggle and bent over to pick it up, giving him an eyeful of her breasts straining over her bra; yet another image that he could do without.

She handed the phone to him.
