“As you wish.” I smile.
“It doesn’t really work in that situation,” she says.
“What do you mean? I can’t say it for you to sit down?”
“I mean, you could. But it wouldn’t be as effective as if you said it in response to something I was asking for.”
I nod and my lips pull into a frown as I think about what she’s saying and whether I appreciate it or think she’s just a ball buster.
“What would you like to drink?” I ask.
“Bourbon, please.”
“As you wish.” I deepen my voice and wink at her.
“That was perfect!” Her smile lights up her entire face.
Okay, maybe not a ball buster. At least not yet.
