Or settle down with one girl.
Also, not going to happen.
It makes me sound like a man-slut. Truly, it’s not so much that, as it is that I get bored easily. I crave the excitement of someone new. The appeal of the unknown. Like they could surprise you at any time. Because they could, since you don’t know the person at all.
I hearLisasay the next few hours are critical, and they are keeping a close eye on Sadie. Aaron thanks her and asks if he can see her. Lisa nods and tells him only for a second.
“He’s the one who put her here, Lisa,” I interject. She looks at me, gaze cold and hard.
“They were dancing. He upset her, she tried to leave, and he wouldn’t let her go. To the point where she had to physically push at him, which is why she fell so hard when he finally released her.”
I can see the emotions warring in her eyes between wanting to ignore me and denounce every word that comes out of my mouth versus her professional responsibility to keep a patient safe.
“You canbothwait out near intake and I will have the doctor come give you an update when he’s through. I do not want to see either one of you in her room. Understand?” She looks between us, her expression stern. I nod. Aaron does the same. I motion with my arm for him to proceed before me down the hall.
“No, after you,” he says. “I insist.”
What a dick.
I head out to the waiting area, wondering once again what the hell I am doing here and just how long I plan to stay.
