“Like it? I love it. It is truly awe-inspiring. I can’t wait to see it when the kitchen is completed.”
“I figured I’d have a housewarming party when it’s all finished,” she says. “If you come, there will be three of us here.” She scoffs.
“I wouldn’t miss it.”
Her stomach growls.
I laugh. “I guess that’s our cue to go.”
She blushes. “It seems as though I am hungry.” She grabs a chew bone for her dog, P-Tink takes it gently and trots to her dog bed, where she turns four times before settling.
I move to open the door for Willow. “After you.” I gesture.
“Thank you.” I watch her ass again, making a promise to myself to walk behind her as many times as possible this evening.
“I just realized I don’t know what kind of car you actually drive. The one you had before was a rental, right?”
“Yeah. I drive a motorcycle normally.” I open the passenger door for her and help her in.
“This is nice, I like it. Oh wow, it’s so clean.”
I get in the driver’s side and start the motor. “I have a confession to make. I just bought it today.”
“You did?”
“Yeah. I wasn’t sure how you’d feel about a bike.”
“You bought a car for our date?” she asks.
“No.” I laugh.
“Oh good.” She sounds relieved.
“I bought a Jeep.”
“Ohmigod, Mason. We could have taken my car. Or an Uber or something.”
“It’s okay. It was time, anyway. I’ve needed something for a while.”
“All right. I feel bad. How about I pay for dinner?”
“How would it be an apology dinner if you paid?”
She shrugs and blushes slightly. “So, where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise.”
“I need to know how big the apology is.”
I look at her, brows raised.
“You know, like the nicer the restaurant, the bigger the apology,” she teases.
“I see how it is. Well, I’ve not been there before, but it gets great reviews online. It offers a wide variety of choices. Plus, forty beers on tap and a self-proclaimed extensive wine list.”
“It sounds great!”
“Let’s hope so,” I say.
