She waves her hand in the air. “He said I needed to go home. That it was too soon.”
I think I’m starting to understand. The whole family is fuck-nuts crazy.
Except for Willow.
I hope.
“Which is where I come in?” I confirm.
“Yes,” she says with a huff.
“You understand I have no intention of marrying you, right?”
“Duh. And gross. You’re . . . old.” She looks repulsed.
And enjoy your moment of humility there, Mason.
“So, how do you see this playing out then?”
She shrugs. “We’ll break up.”
“When?”
She looks around and shrugs again. “I don’t know, soon?”
“And what happens tonight?”
“We’ll probably go to a hotel.” She could have easily added aduhat the end of that sentence as well.
“And stay in the same room?”
“I don’t know. I guess.” She huffs again. “I don’t have all the answers here. It’s no big deal.”
I nod. Still not quite believing I’m in this situation.
“Staying in the same room is no big deal?” I confirm.
She nods.
“I’m not doing this, AshLynn. It’s ridiculous. I agreed to give you a ride to Seattle and this has already gonewaybeyond that.”
“Oh, you’re doing this, Mason.”
“What makes you think—”
“Otherwise, I’ll tell my family right now that you were spying on Willow when she was naked in her room. Pretty sure that’s a felony when I tell them you were also rubbing one out at the same time.”
“I was not!”
“Maybe. But who are they going to believe?”
Fuck.
Fuck.
And fuck.
“Fine. How long do I have to do this for?”
