“I was.” He lowers his mouth to my ear. “I haven’t stopped thinking about you since the West Coast Wine event.”

“I’ve thought about you too,” I admit. Ashamed to be admitting such a thing to another woman’s man, but doing it anyway. For some reason it just doesn’t feel like we’re doing anything wrong.

“And since I wasn’t sure how you’d react if I called you, I figured I’d wait until I saw you here.”

“How did you know I'd be here?”

“I knew you’d be a finalist.”

“How?”

“Because your wine is fantastic, and when I shared it with one of the editors at Wine Review Magazine, he agreed.”

“You’re the reason they found my wine?” I can’t help the awe that creeps into my voice.

He nods, sheepishly.

“Who’s Blondie?”

“You know, Michael’s girlfriend.”

“Cassie?”

“Is that her name? We were never actually introduced.”

He chuckles. “Yes, that’s her name. And no, I did not think that.”

I relax against him once again, enjoying the feel of his body so close to mine. The sense of security that his arms around me brings. The—

Shit!

Toni!

“What about Antonia?” I ask.

“What about her?”

What about her?

“I’m not interested in breaking up someone’s relationship and if you think I’d go on a date with you when—”

His lips against mine drown out anything else I was going to say as my mind falls into a Riggs fog. He pulls away after a moment, leaning his forehead against mine and groaning, “Look toward the bar.”

“Huh?” I’m still in a daze after that kiss and can’t remember anything about anything.
