“Yes to all the above. I’m supposed to tell you that all of you are welcome everywhere and our grandcarrier says the Spain house is currently unoccupied and ready to live in if you want it,” Teal said.
“Not the Spain house,” Indigo groaned. “Do not tell our carrier about that. You know how he feels about that place. It’s the one he said Medwin tried to stuff him and dad into when they first met.”
“You’d like our parents,” Cobalt said.
“Dad was an only child for a long time. Our carrier has two brothers who he still lives with. Yes, they’ve found their mates and all that too. They all live together. That’s just how it goes,” Indigo continued his thought. “I don’t think they’ve ever lived apart. They even travel together.”
I let out a long breath and met Odie’s gaze over Cobalt’s shoulder.
“We could go to your dad’s place. He wouldn’t mind,” Odie pointed out.
“Maybe later. We’ll take them to meet him, of course. After we get some rest. After we get to know them.”
“After someone takes that test you’re clutching like it’s your baby?” Teal pointed out.
“Oh, that,” I shoved it inside my blue apron pocket and laughed to cover up how embarrassment tickled my face with a blush.
“Don’t be embarrassed,” Teal said. “If you all need something, I’m the one to call. I’m going to be a lot more good natured about all tests that come in little cardboard boxes than some of our relatives. I don’t believe in slut shaming or sex shaming or whatever and I come with a portable ultrasound machine too. I also have privileges at the local clinic. So, flu shot, heat shot, back up shot? I’m your dragon. Also, I know where all the bodies are buried because I’m the guy everyone calls to help bury them.”
I almost asked if he was joking but decided I didn’t want to know if he wasn’t. Teal seemed good natured enough and everyone liked him but most of London was filled up with dragons. Maybe what they liked was different than what we wolves thought they’d like.
“And I can medicate a hangover too,” Teal added on when no one laughed. “I can medicate most things. So, call me. Seriously, anything. You two are family now too. So, we’re going to the apartment? I don’t want to assume but if so Cobalt and Indigo you’re riding in the bed.”
“We are,” Indigo nodded before anyone else could say anything.
“Yeah, if one of us falls out, we’ll be fine,” Cobalt laughed.
“That was one time and to be fair I told you to hold the fuck on,” Teal smirked. “It’s not my fault you decided not to. I think you wanted road rash on your ass.”
Odie pulled him a little closer and I quit laughing. His worry was palpable.
“We’ll be fine,” Cobalt whispered to him and something inside me melted because Odie was melting on the trunk of the car.
“Let’s get going. I don’t mind a show, but the rest of London might and it’s going to be sunrise soon enough. I’ll get you foursettled. Figure out what to feed you and walk back for the car. Then I’ll swap it out with the truck and leave you to it,” Teal said.
Indigo and Cobalt insisted on helping us into the truck and ensuring we were fastened in as if we’d never taken care of ourselves in our whole lives. I would’ve decked anyone else we’d dated before but since I wanted to tie them to the bed of the truck, so they didn’t fall out, I gave them a free pass this one time.
“Take care of them, Teal,” Cobalt warned before shutting the door.
“You’re not even a foot behind us!” Teal called back. “Seriously!”
Chapter Six
Indigo
The apartment was as small as our guys warned us. Even the staircase to get up to their apartment was steep and narrow. Getting even one of the matingmoon baskets up the steps proved to be a challenge and Teal went with the smallest baskets fit for purpose that our grandparents had laying around the house. If we ever bought an apartment building, I’d make sure it was one designed with dragons in mind. How did they even get furniture upstairs?
“I’m sorry,” Ambry apologized for the third time as he scurried to clear off the kitchen table so there was somewhere to set the thing down.
“Don’t be,” Cobalt and I said at the same time.
“We’re a lot to handle. You had no way of knowing you’d have three dragon shifters in your apartment at once tonight,” I said, reaching out for him as soon as I could get to him around everyone else.
Teal pressed his back against the fridge so I could pull my mate into my arms. I sighed when my arms closed around him. Ambry fit perfectly against me. To hell with the rest of the apartment. As long as I had room to hold onto him, I’d make do. We’d all make do. Perhaps it would be cozier than our guesthouse given the size of things.
“What do you two want to eat?” Cobalt asked a second later, sitting on the sofa and pulling Odie onto his lap.
We and Teal joined them in the living room. Teal motioned for us to sit down with them since he planned to leave as soon as he knew we had something to eat worked out.
