“We want to keep the tradition too. We were thinking Celeste for a girl,” I said.

“Maybe Teal and Ciro will have a girl or you’re next one will be a girl,” Ambry said, squeezing my shoulder.

“Already thinking ahead?” Dara glanced at Ambry.

“We want a big family,” Indigo shrugged.

“And I think it will be a healthy one if I had to guess,” Dara said. “I’ll send these to the office and have someone run over print outs. Will you be here or at home this evening?”

“At home,” I said before anyone else had a chance to answer.

I wanted some cuddle time alone without everyone asking me what the baby wanted and we needed to figure out how to get Teal and Ciro levelheaded enough for a real family meeting.

“I’m sure Nicky will appreciate the privacy,” Dara nodded.

“That too,” I whispered.

Chapter Seventeen

Teal

I woke up starfished out on my back, staring at the ceiling. Ciro wasn’t in bed and the blender was running full steam ahead in the kitchen. He’d taken to making smoothies out of all the fresh produce that was delivered by mostly invisible people to our back door. My stomach growled but I lay still waiting for my dick to stand up again. I waited for that other hunger to show its devouring appetite but for the first time since I met Ciro my dick didn’t wake up when I did.

Inside his inner sanctum, my dragon let out a sigh of relief. Ruts were fun but I was achy all over like I was recovering from the flu and had the vague sense that my brothers needed me. Had Torvan escaped? Had something gone wrong with Odie’s pregnancy? Who had Guardie blown up?

“Take a breath. It’s not that urgent or I’d have dragged your flesh bag to them already,”my dragon chimed into my thoughts.“We just have to start rubbing our brain cells together again. At least for a little while. Probably gotta check on Morvan too. Everyone over there. Shit! Everyone over there!”

I sat up and rubbed the heels of my hands against my eyes, trying to shake off the fog of the last few days.

“Week. It’s been like eight days since we arrived here. I think anyway,”my dragon said.

It had been so effortless to fall into a routine with Ciro. It was as if we morphed into a single soul moving from talking, to sex, to eating and going round and round tossing in sleep whenever we remembered to. Along the way, my brothers had visited here and there. I recalled at least six visits. If we’d only been here a week or so how often were they bringing food? Rut always blurred my sense of time a little, but it had never been this bad before. Then again, it wasn’t just a rut this time. It was Ciro. Even thinking his name made the corners of my mouth perk up into a grin.

As if I summoned my cat man by thinking his name, Ciro appeared naked in the doorway holding two fruit and coffee smoothies. My eyes raked over him. He was as beautiful as ever, but I didn’t feel the need to knock him over and devour him before breakfast.

“Someone’s calming down,” he said, handing off the smoothies to me so that he could join me on the bed.

“Sorry to see the rut go?” I teased him and took a long gulp of one of the smoothies.

“A bit but I got a text from a friend in the guard, and I don’t think you’re going to be thrilled,” Ciro said gently.

“Is Morvan okay? Did those fuckers arrest another of my guys?” I glanced around, trying to recall where any piece of clothing I owned ended up.

“Morvan is fine. He’s been causing a bit of ruckus by refusing to leave jail the entire time his brother was there. Wouldn’t even go home to wash his balls apparently. Well, this morning – well, this morning London time, your grandsire finally released Torvan before the mushrooms started to grow on his twin’s nuts. He has a bunch of restrictions and shit but he’s out.”

I breathed a sigh of relief. If that was the only thing my brothers wanted to talk to me about, I’d gotten off easy while I was up and at it with Ciro.

“No one else has been arrested. There have been a few threats made at Clarence and Medwin but not many more than normal,” Ciro continued in between taking sips of his smoothie. “None have been followed through on. I’m sure we need to check in with them at some point about what’s going on but I don’t think anyone’s in a state of emergency. I wanted to talk to you about something, though. They all keep talking about moving here. I know we could commute and stuff—”

“You don’t have to work,” I blurted out without waiting to find out what he was talking about.

“Thanks, I know that,” I chuckled. “Um… My parents didn’t leave me broke. We’ve been Londoners and Moonscalers forever, thank you. I meant I want you to take time off if I’m pregnant. I don’t want to be a hormonal mess chasing around after you. Pregnant cats aren’t exactly known for being reasonable and I’m not going to sit at home licking my balls while you run around. I can’t. I know you have to makeup with Morvan and stuff but whatever needs done needs to get done before I’m really pregnant.”

“Are you pregnant?” I asked, skipping over everything that could be a complication because a baby changed everything.

“If I’m not, one of us need to see a doctor, huh? I think I’m probably ten percent cum after how many times you’ve gone at me this week,” Ciro laughed, a blush somehow still coming up on his face.

“True,” I nodded. “I just--- Of course, we’ll figure something out. Morvan can run most things. I won’t make him do--- I won’t make him kill all the assholes, though. He’s good at it but he shouldn’t be offing people who threaten my family on his own.”
