“So about that promise you made me.” I waggle my eyebrows at him, but before I can do anything else, he’s moving across the room and wrapping me up in his arms.

“I hope you weren’t expecting sunshine and roses, because I’m about to fuck you fast and hard.” I love the way he can go from sweet to talking dirty in under a millisecond. It’s one of the many layers that is Ang. And I sure do love unraveling each and every one of them.

He carries me to the laundry room and sets me down on top of the cabinet used as the folding station. “Lift your ass,” he demands, and I obey quickly as he strips my clothes off me and then himself.

“And here I thought you said this would be a fast fuck,” I tease.

“That doesn’t mean I’m going to pass up the opportunity to see your luscious body.”

I heat from his words and the way his fingers play me like a well-tuned piano. Before I even realize what’s happening, Ang is giving me my first orgasm.

“Holy shit,” I moan after I’ve managed to catch my breath. “What the hell was that?” Never have I orgasmed that fast in my life.

“That’s me knowing your body better than you do, sweetheart.”

Well, damn if he isn’t right. But I don’t get the opportunity to say as much before he’s lining up with my core and slowly entering me.

So much for fast and hard.

We continue just like that. Ang working himself in and out of me while simultaneously piecing my heart back together.

“I love you.” The words fly out of my mouth before I can take them back, and I wish I could when Ang freezes. I try to bury my head in his chest, but he doesn’t let me.

“Look at me, Gracie.” I look up into his eyes and nearly melt at what I see. “I never thought I could love someone else, but you gave me that. I love you more than you realize.”

Ang continues to make love to me on the folding table in the laundry room. And it might not sound like it, but it’s the most romantic thing to ever happen to me.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

ANGELO

I can't stop smiling. This morning was the second time I got to wake up with Gracie in my bed. Although, like the first morning, she snuck out before the kids woke up. Thankfully without getting caught this time. Before I left the house for work, I did make her promise me that we would tell the kids about us sooner rather than later. The last thing I want is for our relationship to be a secret from my girls.

"Is my sister the reason you have that goofy look on your face?" Annie asks the second she sees me enter the pub.

"And if it is?" I challenge back with an even bigger smile.

"Then I'm happy. My sister deserves something great after her relationship with Jeremy."

"Speaking of. Do you think now that she changed her number, he’ll leave her alone?"

There should be no way for him to contact her now that she has a new phone number, but no man wants to easily let go of a woman like Gracie.

"Do you want my honest opinion or the sunshine-and-roses one?"

I snicker at the question. "Honest, please."

Annie sighs. "I think he's going to figure out where she is and come for her."

Her answer is not at all what I want to hear, and it makes me want to rush home and protect Gracie from a threat we don't even know exists yet.

"Why do you say that?"

"Because Jeremy doesn't like to lose. And as far as he's concerned, Gracie being the one to walk away means he lost."

I don't like the way that sounds for even a second, but Gracie’s assured me Jeremy doesn't know where she is. Because if he did, he wouldn't be just sending her texts demanding her attention. He would be trying to get it in person.

So instead of dwelling on the subject for longer than necessary, I change it. "Have you thought of a name for this place?"
