No fucking way.

Who would have thought Blaze fucking Leveau wasacuddler?

She stayed still for another moment, letting herself enjoy the weirdly comfortable embrace of someone she used to hate not too long ago.

They left the party after that steamy exchange in the tower, and Alecto spent the night in his bed, tangled between his sheets and his limbs. It was nothing if not divine.

Blaze sighed heavily, his warm breath ruffling her hair, and then he groaned, rolling on his back, and his hand slipped away from her waist.

Alecto glanced over her shoulder, her muscles going taut as if she were waiting for the moment when the spell would be gone and Blaze wouldn’t be here with her.

He knew how to be mean, better than anyone else. And while most of the time Alecto could take it, she wasn’t sure if she could right now.

Fortunately, when those dark eyes opened, taking her in next to him, all he did was roll back on his side and nuzzle his nose into her neck, breathing in her smell.

“Morning,” he murmured, his voice husky.

Alecto didn’t push him away, allowing his hands to wrap around her once more and pull her closer to his hard body.

“Good morning,” she replied. She let the butterflies inside her belly to fly around freely for once.

“So, are you going to tell me once more how fun it was, but we shouldn’t do this again?” Blaze asked, his face still buried in her neck.

“It almost sounds as if you were deeply wounded by it.”

Blaze lifted his head, glaring at her through lowered lashes.

“It wounded me so deeply. I’m still trying to recover,” he said seriously, but there was a smile at the corner of his mouth. His gaze dropped to her lips, eyebrow arching. “And I think there must be some sort ofpaybackfor the damage your words had done to my poor soul.”

Alecto giggled as Blaze dived back into her neck, his lips tickling her skin, teeth nibbling gently.

She tried wiggling away, but his grip around her waist tightened, his mouth working her neck and sending sparks of pleasure down her belly to her core.

Blaze crawled on top of her, pressing her to the mattress. Alecto felt how eager he already was, his hard-on pressing against her belly.

She let her eyes roam his face, still softened by the traces of sleep. It was scary how attracted Alecto was to this cruel boy looking down at her.

Goose bumps rose over her skin whenever his fingers explored her body. Blaze had seen her at her worst…No, he himself was responsible for bringing out the worst in her. And yet, those obsidian eyes were still flickering with want and need, despite all the ugliness.

What a strange thing it was. And how comforting.

“What’s the matter?” Blaze asked, his eyebrows drawn together.

Alecto met his gaze once more, letting her hands run down his back, feeling the marks her nails had left last night.

“I thought we’ve got the unfinished business of payback…” Alecto mused.

Blaze wiggled himself between her legs at the same time one of his hands gathered both of hers and pinned them over her head.

“Oh, so you’re eager to pay up?” he teased, brushing the tip of his nose over hers.

“Why are you so sure I’m the one who’s going to pay up?”

Blaze released a sound somewhat between a growl and a moan as his hand moved away from keeping her wrists pinned, long fingers wrapping around her throat.

“You’re a real piece of work, you know that, Black?” Blaze muttered, almost exasperated. And if it weren’t for the gleam of desire in his gaze, Alecto could almost believe it bothered him.

She leaned into him to catch his lower lip between her teeth, nibbling on it and sucking it into her mouth. That was enough for Blaze to dive in, his grip around her throat tightening a tad as he claimed her mouth.
