Blaze huffed a laugh.

Some days it seemed as if the whole world hated them.

When they finished the second lap, Gabe from the House of Tigers and one of his lackeys joined them.

The Tigers were the weakest House out of the big four, in Blaze’s opinion.

Yet they were the most fucking annoying.

“It’s looking like the Snakes are not in the best shape this year,” Gabe said, smirking. “I guess losing the Game for the first time in over fifty years last year was a huge hit.”

Blaze threw him his most dazzling smile, only increasing his pace.

“That was our first loss in half a century. When’s your first win?”

“Yeah, dick bags,” Andro said. “How about you worry more about keeping your Book safe and less about what we’re doing.”

Gabe’s lackey barked a laugh.“Youshould worry about keeping your Book safe this year. You won’t even know what hit you before it’s too late.”

Blaze snorted. “Doubt it. If you reallyhadgame, you wouldn’t be talking abouthavinggame. Am I wrong,Hulk?”

“I don’t know, Leveau.” Gabe shrugged. “I thought Alecto would have told you all about it. That sweet piece of ass didn’t seem to be complaining as I fucked her bent over the balcony at the boathouse.”

Gabe bumped fists with his lackey, and they ran off laughing.

Blaze’s chest swelled with hot rage, eyes tracking them as they moved further away.

It would be a pleasure breaking Gabe so bad he would beg Blaze to spare him.

“I think we need to talk with our High Priestess about that plan of hers.” Blaze dragged a hand over his hair once more, increasing his speed.“The House of Tigers seem to bebeggingfor extra special love this year.”

Alecto’s father was going to bethrilledwhen he found out that his precious little daughter had detention for the next month because she broke into a classroom after hours.

Oh, she wished she could tell them Blaze was also there.

She didn’t know much of his relationship with his father. But something told her that Galliermo wouldn’t be happy with his son being in such petty trouble.

Leveau men were above it all. Above getting caught for breaking in. They came in and took whatever they needed without consequences nor remorse.

But Alecto wasn’t a snitch.

With a heavy sigh, Alecto opened the first two buttons of her white shirt and loosened her tie. She glanced around the library, then threw a glare towards a pile of dusty old books waiting for her.

She supposed having to work in the library for a month, a few hours a day, wasn’t the worst thing to ever happen to her. At least they didn’t make her clean the toilets or work in the kitchens.

Alecto would have thrown a tantrum.

She would have called her dad and pulled her precious daughter card to get her out of it, no matter what it would cost her later.

Just as she was about to start dusting the first book, the door to the library opened, and Miss Bellthrove entered, two tall figures coming in after her. She smiled at Alecto, glancing at her over the top of her round glasses.

“Well, dear, good news,” the Dean’s secretary announced, all chipper. “I have two gentlemen over here who are going to be joining you.”

She gestured for the guys behind her back to come closer before she whirled on her kitten heel and, without another word, strode out of the library, leaving Alecto and the two men alone.

“Well, Rogue Smolder and Matias Santos,” Alecto mused, crossing her arms. “Just when I thought my life couldn’t get any better.”
