“I don’t think it’sbiologicallypossible,” Alecto snorted, coming into the kitchen looking like a fucking snack.

Blaze glanced up and down her body before she disappeared behind the island, going over to the coffeepot.

Her pleated uniform skirt was rather short, and Blaze wondered whether it was on purpose. If she were to just hunch over a bit, you could see the contour of her ass.

A nice, perky ass Blaze would have loved to sink his claws in.

And that skirt right now carried rather naughty memories.

Fucking Hel. Get it together, Leveau.

Alecto placed a coffeepot on the stove, turning up the gas. Her coffee was always black, never with creamer, milk, or sugar.

While she waited, she turned to them, crossing her arms.

The door to the kitchen flew open, and Val rushed in, Rogue trailing after her. She plopped the notebook she carried on the island in front of them, barely missing the plates of food.

“We’resofucking ready for next Saturday,” she breathed out, all excited.“Rogue just fetched me the last of the ingredients we need for astral projections.”

“Should we maybe do it this Saturday then?” Andro asked. “After the rockey game?”

Val’s lips curled into a wicked smile. “I like the way you’re thinking—”

“No,” Blaze cut Val off.

Everyone glanced his way, but nobody said anything.

This Saturday they had a big game. A game for which Blaze had to prepare.

There was no space for anything else in his mind.

Alecto leaned over the counter, glancing at the notebook. Blaze didn’t miss the way Rogue found a spot right by her side. Her eyebrows shot up. “Where the fuck did you get black quartz from?”

“I’ve got my sources,” Val said.

“Fucking Hel,” Andro breathed out. “Can you imagine if we manage to pull this off and win the Game halfway through the first trimester?”

“That’s gotta be a fucking record,” Jolene said.

Val glanced at each of them. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet.”

Alecto’s coffeepot started whistling and she turned away to the stove. Romeo passed her a cup, and she poured her coffee into it.

When she took the first sip, she didn’t even blink at the bitterness of coffee.

A psychopath.

Blaze couldn’t handle the taste of coffee unless it was packed with sweet syrup and creamer.

Lots and lots of creamer.

Sadly, Alecto didn’t get toenjoyanother sip of her morning coffee as Romeo shoved a plate with eggs and bacon into her hands. “Eat.”

Reluctantly, Alecto placed it down on the island in front of her. Romeo pushed the maple syrup to her, whistling and completely ignoring their conversation.

“If this goes well,” Val said, eyeing Alecto with such intensity, Blaze got worried for a moment. “We might burn all the other Houses this year just because we can.”

“Can someone call the psychiatry ward?” Andro asked, dramatically looking around. “We have a crazy bitch on the loose.”
